The first GTA 3 game for the PS2 had vehicle damage, and Vice City and San Andreas are also considered GTA 3 (Hence why this is GTA IV and not VI)

I don't know about this. To be perfectly honest, it kind of makes me hesitent to buy the game, now. I was marginally excited for it, but this just looks like more of the same thing I've already done for 500 hours in GTA 3, Vice City, and San Andreas, but with better graphics. Plus, I played a lot of Saints Row when that first came out... Kinda sick of this genre, I thought the game would be more revolutionary.

More of the same with shinier graphics. Meh.

I'm in agreement, although the facts aren't all in. I hate to judge from You Tube, but really that should only pertain to graphics anyway. The other games looked like crap in my opinion, but they are so much fun!!!!!

Nope, haven't played it. Just saying what it looks like to me. Looks like more wasting time. I had fun wasting time in the virtual worlds of GTA in the past, but I'm just sick of that kind of game. It doesn't look different at all from this video. More realistic graphics & physics, and a more NYC-like Liberty City... but it's still the same putzing around gameplay. The only thing that'll convince me to buy the game would be if the missions are somehow more than "Drive here. Kill people. Drive here. Kill person. Drive here. Kill. Drive. Kill." If they can make up some kinds of new missions to accomplish, that'd be great. But I don't know. Also, if it has a story of Godfather proportions, or something, that'd convince me to play through it as well. At the moment, though, it doesn't really built up much interest for me.

I'm sick of running up to a car, hitting a button to steal it, driving around to nowhere, killing random people. I used to have fun with it, but after hundreds of hours of that kind of thing, it just feels like a waste of time, I have more fun playing a game where I have an objective than to just mess around aimlessly. That's all. I'd rather play another another round of golf, or race another race, or play another match in an online war game, or play another RPG, or anything. If I want to wander around New York City, I'll leave my apartment and wander around... the random thievery and killing aspect that the game provides isn't really appealing to me. If it was a city I didn't live in, maybe I'd be more interested to get the opportunity to explore it thoroughly. I don't pretend to have some objective reason why I'm not interested in it, I just tell it like I see it that's all.

The frame rate is like butter!!
The previous poor quality videos reduced my hype and anticipation, but this one shot it right back up.

The gameplay looks the same as previous games, which isn't a big negative for me, but I guess I expected more. Also Niko seems to be kind of compassionate saying sorry and stuff compared to the other GTA lead characters lol

By the way, the graphics look outstanding!!
Graphic whores need to be ignored when they play down GTAIV's graphics.

I don't mind watching these gameplay videos as long as they don't spoil the story.

Ok after watching this for the 3rd time, my hype level went down again.
GTAIV just looks like a pretty upgrade of the previous games.
There doesn't seem to be anything new other than graphics and physics, but I'll save my final verdict when I've got it in my hands.

Okay,before you tear my head apart,know this:I have already pre-ordered this game,and will be playing it next week on my Ps3.

Now...From that video,I am VERY unimpressed.There's nothing there that I haven't done before,the gameplay looks the exact same as in previous GTA's,the fighting still looks clunky,graphics look fine but they're nowhere near the realism level they were hyped to be,there's noticeable Pop-In,the city looks great but kinda empty for New York,sigh...I REALLY love GTA,and like I said,will play it next week,but I really really REALLY hope that the gameplay 'feels' different,because it certainly looks the exact same as in previous iterations.

OK not totally on-topic but all this talk of preordeing has me worried. I have pre-ordered from Amazon.co.uk... but I live in Spain. My reasoning was that I wanted the full package in English, though I'm pretty sure the Blu-ray will contain multiple languages.

Now I'm worried because Amazon could apparently take at least a week to get the game to me (possibly even longer given that I'm outside the UK)... so should I cancel my preorder and take the chance on picking up a copy in the shops here? Or should I prolong my agony for an extra 5, 7, 10?? days?

Don't misunderstand, this game does look good graphically this time. But I don't suspect they will be changing the actual gameplay formula too much, I've got my preorder in after all. I was making a general statement about the other installments. At first, I was reluctant at getting this game, fearing the poor graphics would be hereditary. Then when I heard it was multi platform, I REALLY didn't want it. But after all the video and good things I have been hearing, the anticipation is staggering. :)

The driving physics look a little floaty, but the advantage of that is demonstrated when the guy pulls off a 540 in the car. This video makes it look like a GTA game, which is a great thing. Thank God it hasent changed too much.

It could be the PS3 version, them loud sounds seems different than the 360, when you play games on the PS3, the fans do go a bit louder when playing for a little while.

The video only showed a short driving gameplay which I think was awesome...

If anything this footage hyped me even more.

I specially was impressed in how much the visuals have improved...

Niko looked really impressive. The light reflect on his jacket and the environment.... wow. When he punched the guy and stole the SUV, it looked great and real.. The shadows on the street looked great too.

That short footage just boosted my anticipation a LOT more... Just imagine that you will be able to play a completely open game with much more improved visuals. All the places left to see, all the cars left to drive, the story, the new physics, another level of realism in a sandbox game... common guys
