Empire Magazine reviews GTAIV

A wealth of new music, cars that handle like real-life vehicles and new multiplayer duels also help make GTA IV the most engaging release so far this year. And while it would've been interesting to see the developers experimenting with a new approach to the carnage, as an evolution of the world's best-loved gangster game, GTA IV is damn-near perfect.

well, apparently some people think other wise... this game is not that great. The graphics look last gen, its the same gameplay over and over, don't understand why everyone is hyped for this game.....

Personally i am glad it is getting these scores, it my very well be the first game that truly deserves them.

this is the Mile Stone ! this is what a real next gen game should be... more then just better graphics and some new quirk !

It should be next gen on every level. Dev's should stop rushing their games ( though we know it can't be helped due to greedy publishers ) but when real time and effort goes into something like this, the reward more then pays off.

others want to reap the reward, but not put in the time or effort ( yes i am talking about you EA, you FU£$%% BAS£"%$"£^ )...

anyway, 8 days and counting.

Am i the only one who watches all the gta 4 trailers from the first one released to the latest one on the 360, then turns on the ps3 and watches all the trailers on there as well, every night and morning.... then i get out my collectors pack of gta3, vice and sanandreas. watch all the intros over and over...

i am going GTA mad !

so far, so absolutely perfect

if every mag and site had a X/5 or X/10 scoring system, GTA4 would be the first game to get 100 on metacritic

unfortunately, a lot of mags and sites use decimals and percentages which means the score is likely to drop down to 97 or 98 since those aformentioned mag/sites might be a little skeptical about awarding that elusive 100%

I am not even reading reviews. I am just looking at the review and keeping a bird's eye view on this game. I want this game to surprise me.

i've stopped reading previews about GTA4, MGS4, Soul Calibur 4, Fallout 3 and a lot of others

sometimes i play a game and really hate myself for reading so much about it

and then i play something like Army of Two which i read little about and was surprised by a lot of th stuff in there like how the aggro system works and stuff

I would like to see some of these reviews give us details we don't already know. I mean I jump on them as soon as I see them and read everyone from start to finish but I would like to see some new information.

Wow another perfect score. One magazine said it wanted to give it a 12/10. We could be looking at the best game ever created. Makes me feel better because I have to buy 2 versions of the game. The 360 version to play with my brother and for DLC, and the PS3 version because I would feel like a traitor getting it for 360 over my PS3.

Yay, another prefect score. Brings back memories of Halo 3 prior to its launch. Perfect scores but the game couldn't live up to the hype. Good game, but not as godly as it was made out to be.

Could the same thing be happening to GTAIV?

It's only a matter of time before that one 8/10 comes down from the reviewer whose whole family was killed in a freak GTA IV related accident. It's too bad, really. From what I've seen this might really be the first game in a long time to deserve a true 10/10!
