You'll never be able to get back those eight-and-a-half bucks you blew on your ticket for Uwe Boll's "Alone In The Dark", but those seeking revenge against the infamous German filmmaker will be pleased to know that a recent interview with FEARnet revealed a giant glowing weak point in his floundering directorial career -- amidst Nazi humor and PETA endorsements, Boll commented on a petition, currently at around 18,000 signatures, for him to forever put an end to his game franchise-defiling ways. It'll take more than that to derail his train of box office catastrophes, he claimed -- though one million signatures should do the trick.

We have a problem because every movie he makes, while we don't have to watch them (I've only seen two, but already recognized that the limit of his talents probably peaked sometime in early junior high school), every game movie he makes is actually a block for that game to get a movie made by an actual talented director.

Every movie he has made to this point, you can cross off your list of having a GOOD movie ever made of that game. And I don't know if you've noticed, but this man sucks up game rights like a sponge.

I think Metal Gear may be safe now (though at one point he FALSELY claimed that he was contacted about making that one too), but what if he manages to get the rights to direct a GTA movie? Then you could pretty much guarantee that we'll NEVER have a decent GTA movie to go along with the game.

Sure we don't have to watch them, but some of these movies were probably movies that we would have WANTED to watch if they were made by an actual movie director.

I disagree with you about how to stop Boll. He pretty much finances his own films (through German tax breaks and the such).

The way to stop this man is to educate the game producers. They are the ones who keep giving this hack the rights to their games. Every time I hear that he's gotten the rights to make another game movie, I think "Who the F would..." and then that quick he's got the rights to 3 more.

This petition should not be going out to Boll or even Hollywood. They should be going out to the game developers. They should all be given the "Uwe Boll Press Package By Gamers" and it should be mandatory for game producers to sit through the "Uwe Boll Movie Marathon".

Boll doesn't care and Hollywood is stupid. Believe me when I say this, that the ONLY way we can stop this man is to truly educate the people who have the power to look at Boll and say "NO".

Uwe Boll is responsible for some of the worst dreck American Cinema has seen since...well...forever.

The last straw for me was way back during the House of The Dead movie. But for those of you wondering why he was able to keep making movies was because of a tax shelter that Germany provided for him, more or less allowing him to lose money on ALL of his movies, yet all of his investors got their money back come tax time, given that his investors were German businessman. The tax shelter was set up specifically for German investors to encourage economic growth by basically giving them a fail-safe if an investment went belly-up.

It might please all of you to know that Germany closed that tax shelter, primarily because of Uwe's financially bombing movies were making German Business look bad.

Germany closed early last year, and most of the investor money Uwe had in it was used to make Dungeon Siege, so Uwe's game-based dreck is pretty much over.

And Uwe Boll has addressed the closing of the tax shelter in a few interviews, pretty much admitting financial defeat and, after making the Postal movie, he has claimed to do more low-budget work, which from what I've heard his low-budget stuff wasn't half-bad, but I'm not about to spend money to see any of it.

But Uwe Boll directs game to movie films, so even though he has a large fanbase through the game, a big-ass budget and an almost entirely complete plot (from the game) he just f*cks up...
We are talking f*ckups on an epic scale. Alone in the Dark, House of the Dead, Dungeon Siege, Postal, Far Cry, Bloodrayne, all these are games that arent bad at all, but still he has atleast 2 of his movies in the bottom #100 at IMDB

He makes pretty crap movies in most cases..Although I enjoyed that palp that was Bloodrayne 1..Although was again saddened by Michael Madsens slip from the Donnie Brasco, Reservoir Dogs, The Getaway aaa type movies to his constant offering of b- grade stuff like this.. I certainly don't think Ol' Uwe is as bad as some other directors that are going straight to the dvd shelves. He just has the misfortune and stupid habit of picking up games with hardcore followings, and messing them up, hence triggering a mass of publicity due to ill tempered game fanboys who can't handle the fact that games turned into movies are steaming piles 9.99 times out of ten. Look at the 3 Resident Evil movies, they had high production values and decent actors, but were crud that related to the game in no way other than showing (ordinary looking) Zombies. As if Capcom didn't use George Romero's classics as inspiration for the R.E. games. So basically these games already had a movie based off them before them even existed. Doom, another crap one....

i dont care for the fact that he makes crappy movies, but this is what really bugs me the movies that he makes based off of games shouldnt be crappy, the reason for that is everything is already done. What i mean by that is the plot, the script, the actions are already done by the game and is justa matter of transfering it to the big screen. but the problem lies in the director and the producer. They end up changing what is already done for them, and i just fail to understand why? im not saying he shouldnt make movies but makeing video game to movie should be something to be taken seriously and not half arssed.
