are you serious?? are you just a troll or are you having problems using it?? i use my linux all the time, what's wrong with it??

coolfool5923d ago

I can't that most people who do choose to install this will only install Linux "because they can" and not because they actually intend to use it for anything.

answering your question of why: www.streammygame.com .. well at least i install it for that one, also super fast hacking :D

...if you don't have a home PC.

However, we can get most of the basic services we want online through the PS3 browser - googledocs, gmail/yahoo/hotmail, and little time-killing flash games - so if that's all you want it for, you don't need Linux. If you want more control over your documents, the ability to compile code, and the chance to learn a pretty cool operating system, you should try it out.

wait, can you used the Sixaxis as the controler? Could you do that before?

I would still like to see a complete Ubuntu distro for the PS3, though. But the CellSDK3 is a strong argument. No need to get that installed on ubuntu (well, I've never tried). Sixaxis is interesting, too. I hope they mean thru BluTooth, not USB, though. I still don't like their desktop, and Gnome is still a pain. I am wondering if its possible to downscale all services and really run a minimum desktop to use the 256MB efficiently (there's a link somewhere to reduce the amount of swapping on the PS3, but haven't tried that yet, either). And I am wondering, if they will ever implement PetitBoot into any distro (better yet, Sony should but this into their firmware - an optional visual bootmanager).

This is a huge release being treated like a patch update but really it’s a monster in disguise…Bethesda being Bethesda, no actual release times or pre load available or file size info, sigh. All that said, clearing space on the SSD and putting the PS5 in rest mode while at work so I can play later, fully expecting snail download speeds as millions bang on their servers.

It just popped up on the UK PSN store as a native PS5 download of 56 gigs. I had the PS4 version installed in case it just patched that but it is it's own download.

Not sure if that download includes the DLC's though which I own, think it's just the base game. At the moment there's no separate PS5 DLC download options. But might just take a bit for it to be added.

Review - A Difficult Game About Climbing (PC) | WayTooManyGames

WTMG's Leo Faria: "A Difficult Game About Climbing is obviously frustrating, and I don’t exactly think it’s a fun pasttime, but it’s exponentially more enjoyable than the horrendous Getting Over It With Bennett Foddy. It’s actually beatable with enough trial and error. Its mechanics, whilst not exactly polished to the brim, work as intended, with no intentional input lag. It’s still clearly meant for Let’s Play youtubers to film themselves losing their minds over it, but it can still be a passable challenge if you’re up for the task."

Review - New Star GP (PC) | WayTooManyGames

WTMG's Leo Faria: "I loved that New Star GP ended up being nothing like what I was expecting from it. I thought I was going to get a simple and straightforward love letter to Virtua Racing, only for it to be something more akin to the best F1 racing games from the mid to late 90s, with a perfect blend of accessible physics and simulation elements. New Star GP is adorably retro in its visuals and vibes, but it’s got some surprising amount of depth and an interesting career mode. A little hidden gem in the racing scene, without a doubt."
