You Don't Realize Just How Crazy November 2011 Will Be

VGW: Alright, alright we get it. November is going to be ridiculous, we’re all going to be broke, and we should probably just spend all our vacation time that we were saving up for the holidays in November. Here’s the thing: you don’t even realize how crazy it will be. You may think you do, but, quite frankly, you don’t.

Let’s put things into perspective here. On one day, November 15th, there will be more AAA titles released than there have been in any entire month up to this point in 2011. That’s just one day! This month is just so stupidly busy. In fact, I would wager that November 2011 will be looked back upon as the greatest month in gaming history. Check out the games below and you’ll begin to understand this mindset.

I have to sort of agree though. Maybe it's just because my interests are slowly changing, but the only game I'm really excited for this year is Skyrim, and it looks absolutely phenomenal. Other than that, Uncharted, Assassins, and the others still look cool, but nothing I'd spend 60 dollars on.

Quite honestly I am happy about that, but the same time I am not. I have Darks Souls on pre-order, then I need to get Skyrim for ps3, after that BF3 for PC obviously, can’t forget MGS too and I still haven’t finished RDR, Valkyrie Chronicles, Uncharted 2, FF-13, GT5 and probably something else I’m forgetting. Yeah, I’m a slow gamer and most of my gaming is now occupied by Team Fortress 2, since it became f2p.
So, in a sense, I’m quite bummed out about that, because it will suck to know how great (hopefully) the games are and have to wait until I will be able to afford them all.

Only fools buy every game coming out each year. I have plenty of money and can afford them easily but I'm not idiot. There isn't enough time in a day to be playing all these games. I will buy about 3 or 4 must haves this year, the rest are rentals/used, or waiting on a Steam 50%-70% off sale.

I realize that holiday season dollars are important, but why these companies don't spread it out more, rather than such direct competition I just don't get. The industry is choking itself. I mean this is how good games get passed over. People only have so much time and money to spend on entertainment at any given portion of the year. I know that I personally could sure use one or two of those games right now. Then by November, I'd be ready for the next set of potential greatness.

Actually no. I haven't been very impressed, and I'm a relatively new PS3 owner.
I love the move sharpshooter; so I know I'll be getting eventually.

I found a mistake. Sonic Generations release date was pushed up from 11/22 to 11/1, it comes out the same day as Uncharted 3 now.

All I can say is that I'm glad I have GameFly. No way I can buy each of those new. Have no money to do so and I can probably buy two max. The thing that sucks is they are all must buys but unfortunately come out at the same time which makes most of them rentals now.

I made this mistake a while back. I think it was 2008. so many games coming out I kind of bought all of them around the Nov/Oct time. Come Dec and they had all dropped in price by half for the xmas sales.

Tip: buy the game that you will finish quickly and have no need for repeat play first. Take it back to the shop get a really good price, and then buy another one. Repeat until you get to your keepsake games or ones that take months to get through.

I will be buying none of them on release as it happens. I shall borrow UC3 from a flatmate, I will need to have a try of war of the north incase it is bad, skyrim could be a console port so I need to try that before giving them a single penny, shall borrow revelations, sw:tor will probably fail because it isn't world of warcraft and it WILL be buggy because it is bioware, will be playing marvel vs capcom 3 with flatmates but I won't be buying it, already own minecraft - I hope to hell they keep making it after 11th nov because it needs a LOT more added to it.

And mw3... I need to try that first too. There have been hints that it might not be the crapfest that MW2 was and that it will be more like cod4 - which was a fantastic game.
