Last I read of Dedicated servers on MW3 was its a maybe AFTER launch. With the game only launching with Peer to peer matchmaking crap.

thats why those maps in call of duty are small and use techniques to make it appear its large but you can never enter those far off areas or they'll use fog or cut scenes to give the illusion of larger areas

its old technology but they've added graphical enhancements to make it appear decent

I hate coming into hacked games in MW2.. Couldn't they at least leave the game normal - but if you wanted to play hacked /modded games you had to download a patch or something?

It's obvious it's the 360, for christ sakes, they played the 360 version at E3 and they have exclusive DLC for 360.

This comparison is a little too early. They haven't even released any information officially about the multiplayer.

Both games appeal to different people. One is more tactical and the other is more run and gun, quick action. Both will be decent.

Incorrect. if you scaled battlefield down to a few rooms and took out the vehicles and graphics, you'd have a very similar experience. Battlefield just ramps it up about 100x by adding scale, vehicles, bullet physics (bullets drop over a distance and you have to lead a runner or vehicle), classes, etc..

Dice should actually just take closed off sections of their giant maps and have a DM competitor for COD because the experience would just feel more solid.

@The Blind I have no idea what most of your comment is. First off WoW has not been hacked and there are no cheats for it, the only thing that goes on is peoples passwords being hacked and accounts either sold or used to make gold.

BattleField 3 isn't being ported from pc. The ps3 and xbox version both have their own ways of rendering the game. Here is a slideshow for the ps3 version http://publications.dice.se...

While DICE is doing a great job using the strength of the consoles, in the link you gave, you can see how they tried to take the directcompute work they did on the PC and translate it over to the Cell processor.

Call it a high quality port, which is fine as long as you do it well.

Oh no you didn't! Xbox 360 has more hackers? In the 1.5 years I've played the game I've come across hackers on only 3 occasions.

On the PS3, I remember 80% of games being hacked. No lie! I think this was prior to an update being released a few months ago. Nonetheless, it was chaos. The hackers were even advertising hacks on the little newsfeed at the bottom of the lobby. I know someone who had his prestige rank reset....he was not pleased.

And the Frostbite engine isn't just graphics. It also handles physics. It does the destruction, the recoil, the bull drops etc. They DO change how the game is played.

No one will know the truth on the resolutions until after the games come out. There may be data out there but a lot of times after release you find out that was not true/accurate and the games are just being upscaled.

As far as the no lead platform that is all PR hog wash. They also said that the PC version will never dip below 60 FPS. They are saying all the right things but I will not be surprised if these are all empty promises especially as we near their deadline an Activision is breathing down their necks to get the thing done.

customizable killstreaks, new perks, new maps, new weapons, new campaign, spec ops, zombies, dead ops, theatre mode, combat training, wager matches....no, they didn't change ANYTHING from MW1. They do ALL of that every time.

Customizable streaks since MW2.
New perks, maps, weapons, campaign in every release(duh; without that, it'd literally be the same as last game).
Zombies since WaW.
DeadOps is SpecOps(MW2) with Zombies(WaW).

That leaves theater mode (watching replays?), combat training(is it even necessary), and wager matches(clan matches in any other game). That stuff isn't even worth a new game.

If that's the case, then that should apply to EVERY sequel. Uncharted 1 to Uncharted 2 played the same and had the same weapons (graphics improved though). Same for Halo. Same for every sequel. Those are the things you are suppose to change in a sequel. They aren't going to take away what makes their game their game and add completely different stuff with every installment. Also, wager matches are not like clan matches. All wager matches are everyone against everyone.

I doubt I will be getting MW3, or if I Do, won't be till later in the winter, but I still think people here just like to hate COD because it's the "cool" thing to do. If you don't like the game then that's fine, but what's the point for trashing it? I am not a COD fanboy or anything remotely related to that, the only games I am really looking forward to are Gears 3 and Mass Effect 3.

The only reason BF3 has a lead platform is because the PC can do so much more than the PS3 or the Xbox. Remember these consoles are what 6 years old now.

Now I see who buys COD. Somebody that doesn't know that you can't tell a difference between 30FPS and 60FPS with your eyes and somebody who doesn't want a game taking advantage of every bit of power in each system it goes into. PS3 can do better processing, 360 has better special lighting, and PC has both of those features plus more. MW3 is the same on each because it uses no tech that needs to be squeezed out because it's not a technological marvel at all. Is it better to have 60fps or Frostbite Engine 2.0? I'd probable say Frostbite 2.0 because 60fps isn't necessary. Then again, the pc version of Battlefield 3 will have it all; 1080p, 60fps and Frostbite 2.0. MW3 will sell more but will be the same old rehashed formula that we're tired of. I want something fresh. I want Battlefield 3! MW3 will sell a lot more originally but Battlefield 3 will narrow the gap over time as disappointed MW3 buyers will regret their purchase and buy Battlefield 3 for a superior experience.
