Josh West: "I visited Ninja Theory to get behind-the-scenes insight into one of the most important Xbox exclusives of the year."
Hellblade 2 has great presentation, and that includes more than graphics.
Yeah and many games before it have done what it did and more. Why are we impressed by features that have been standard in many games before? Sites are gonna keep up these fluff pieces for a while longer while everyone has already moved onto some indie game that costs less, took less time to make and does more with gameplay. So many games have been killed off by negative reviews and negative opinion pieces for being more of less like Hellblade 2, but nah this one's special.
It dosent even go beyond beyond its mediocre combat.
Graphics will get outdated in a mere two years.
And there is no combat system to hold it up.
Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II continues Senua’s struggles against her own reality, but undermines its nuances for an Xbox epic that’s lesser in design.
Hellblade 2 looks incredible but the gameplay is a linear slog from the looks of it.
I'm confused how it's locked 30 on Series X tbh. Admittedly my laptop is a touch more powerful than a Series X but I'm getting 90-100 fps with low settings. Which is still absolutely stunning btw, even at low settings its the best looking game I've played (i play on high though, which I'm getting 60 with DLSS quality mode). I guess it's a CPU thing but surely it was possible
The game is mostly walking around while hearing voices, then puzzles then battle sequences then a talking sequence then repeat.
I have some stick drift on my controller,I started the game and an Amazon parcel came after a short but enjoyable chat with the driver I returned to see the end credits rolling
“If you sincerely appreciate masterful visuals, pitch-perfect audio, and visceral story-telling then Senua's Saga: Hellblade II is about as perfect of a game as you can get. However, those looking for substance gameplay-wise will wish there was much more to it.” - A.J. Maciejewski from Video Chums.
The game is ass, linear, less of everything but the graphics are amazing but its also a walking simulator with mostly rocks as your backround. But I am surprised at one thing, the silence amongst gamers when its comes to the series S, everyone was crapping on it and how its under powered and wont be able to handle upcoming games with crazy visuals, yet hellblade 2 on series s look stunning for a 200 dollar box. nothing but silence
That was not a high bar to beat, from what has been shown of hellblade is dark, does not look impressive at all, the combat is basic, not open world, 30fps which sucks balls, graphics are your usual unreal engine look.
A new standard alright. 30 fps on a Series X....Yeah great job raising the bar..
I’m curious to see how much this actually draws. Granted Xbox is starved for quality exclusives, but I don’t think Hellblade as a property will ever have big mass appeal. It’s great but it’s definitely a bit heavy on the artistic psychological end to be a blockbuster I think. Kinda like the game version of The Northman. Hopefully I’m wrong, Xbox needs a win.
It was made for the S. There will be a ton on rails scripting to hold this game together. It will probably run like a high end mobile game.
Everyone bashing 30fps locked when most performance modes lately are total trash with massive dips down to 30 anyway and a blurry image. Performance modes lately are an illusion.
