I hate to be a party pooper, but in my opinion, the game play and storytelling that has been shown so far, has given me, for some peculiar reason absolutely no interest in this game whatsoever. I just can't quite put my finger on whether it's the art style or the slightly over the top fantasy infused gameplay that is putting me off.

Ghost of Tsushima was my favourite PS4 game along with Spider-Man, hence I find it rather puzzling why this title just isn't grabbing me for some reason. Hopefully if all turns out well, I'll give it a shot & purchase it.

That is the opposite for me. What Ive heard about the story seems unique and new. Its a historical period piece and Im super stocked for that at the moment.

If Im not mistaken its the Meiji era, we are talking Tokugawa period, Batusai the slasher, and more recently that “Shogun” series on Hulu that has been blowing my mind.

where-eagles-dare77d ago

I have watched the first two episodes of Shogun & you're absolutely right it is a tremendous series. Hopefully, your excitement for Ronin is rewarded with a great new title that you thoroughly enjoy.

S2Killinit77d ago

(: Im loving it too. Enjoy

helicoptergirl78d ago

What Ive seen excites me. Can't wait to play this

Can you people stop bringing up GoT, damn graphic whoring gots to go.

Pepsi_Man300077d ago

where-eagles-dare77d ago

Ghost of Tsushima set the benchmark, RoR looks fine...but it is ON SALE buy for me.

8bitAssassin78d ago

That game is 4 years old. You CAM play more than one game in that genre.

Green-Smurf77d ago

He's just saying the GoT set the benchmark. You have to be equal of greater than that. Stop acting like other games haven't done that. After GTA, no one gave copycat games a chance. Saints Row, Sleeping Dogs, and True Crime suffered because they were called clones.

8bitAssassin77d ago

@Smurf
What bench mark?!! Stop the bull. You can look at all the previews out and not only see that it's a different setting, but there's way more stuff to do in this game. If you say graphics fidelity, then you can save it. Sleeping dogs is not the same as GTA. The reason SR failed is because its politics. You think with all the games out like this, that they need to do exactly what the one before it did? Like I've said before. You guys are not playing games for the game itself. You're playing through what somebody else tells you it should be.

repsahj78d ago

If I choose between Dragon Dogma 2 and this game, I'm going to get this one.

Gotta get back to this. I took a break for a while.

I started this yesterday, it's like Ghost of Tsushima but with a actually fun combat, I don't like the Assassin's Creed world design in both tbh

EnViiDisnuCCa4d ago

Ain't nothing like ghost of tsushima rise of the ronin is way different from ghost

H94d ago

Same open world design which is the biggest chunk of the game, the biggest difference are the combats which is great and the souls style interconnected dungeons

Elda4d ago

I just beat the game & it does remind me of Ghost Of Tsushima. It has some Ghost Of Tsushima influences, though Rise OF The Ronin is its own game.

notachance4d ago

I had a blast with it, AC style open-world with Nioh gameplay, and the combat was way easier than their past title so you can actually chill while playing it and not raging all over the open world.

Demetrius4d ago

I tried getting into this but it felt way too much like a souls game, it felt like fromsoftware made it, it would be nice if most devs knew they don't have to copy souls game for success, cause most of every game that copies them I rarely hear about those titles again and people I've talked to rarely know about em, but they know of darksouls, elden ring, can't beat the originals, not saying ronin a bad game I'm just not into souls like games I like for devs to be creative and copy less, it's so many ideas games could use nowadays

Einhander19724d ago (Edited 4d ago )

"I tried getting into this but it felt way too much like a souls game."

You can change the difficulty and make it more like a hack and slash. It doesn't need to be a stressful playthrough.

Good to see them continuing to support it, good game but definitely needed some love.
