Konami Confirms Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 Resolution and Framerate

Konami has issued a fresh clarification on the resolution and framerate of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1.

Yup I think so as well. There is no reason what so ever these games can't be 4k on PS5 or series X hell it should be 4k on series s as well

Pretty sure you should be able to at least bump the resolution way past that if you're on PC. The 60 FPS will most likely be locked unfortunately. We'll just have to wait for competent people to mod it. You know, the fans. Not Konami.

Yeah. Switch is much more powerful than the vita. 2 and 3 ran it at the same specs in that. I've bought these games enough different ways to copium myself into being ok with emulators.

I'm just speculating, but my best guess would be that the low CPU clock speed isn't doing the Switch any favors here. The port will probably be based on the 360 version so there's quite a big discrepancy here. It's possible that Bluepoint didn't need to bother with CPU frame times too much and left the game code mostly single threaded for the HD collection, because performance would've been limited by the GPU. If it comes with an unlocked frame rate it would be interesting to test what impact a CPU overclock would have on frame rate.

Switch owners please make up your mind the other day y'all so easily impressed at how well your system can run RDR.
Now so ready to accept less than PS2 performance on Switch, MGS 2 run at 60 fps on PS2 for comparison.
What is this shit target for Switch, Konami it's a 22 year old PS2 game ffs.
No one should be OK with MGS 2 stuck at 30 fps in 2023.

Switch can run Witcher 3 which is an 8th gen game so what's so impressive about it can run RDR again?
No 60 fps for MGS2 on Switch is unacceptable seemed like porting team made the wrong decision to push resolution over framerate again, knowing Nintendo fans can tolerate worse graphics but not frame rate yet they made both cutbacks yet still keeps the resolution target.

I already knew in advance that this was going to be a lazy and sloppy port job. I remember some blogger fool claiming that "Konami is back!"

Nope, Konami are still a fourth-rate embarrassing publisher preying on old people's nostalgia for their classic IPs when they released masterpiece games so many years ago.

I'm informing everyone now that MGS 3 Delta will also be a cheap remake with very little new content outside of a modern control set up. Prepare yourselves for disappointment for that one as well.

For both the remasters and remake:

No Snake vs. Monkey
No Guy Savage
No online play
No Metal Gear Stupid videos

What a shame. I'm perfectly fine booting up my PS2 and PS3 to play these games.
