How do they justify charging $30 for a dress? I get that less people will buy it, but look at the work that goes into that compared to the ENTIRE game and look at the price difference. I'm surprised this isn't regulated, to be honest.

Destiny 2 just released 3 PlayStation themed costumes for $20 each. The prices these companies are starting to charge is outrageous. You could by a great indie game for less than the price of a MTX dress.

Well sony want's bungle to increase all prices by 10% and make live service games there priority get those big bucks.

I agree horrible prices but they sell and sadly in some games sell yacht money every week.

I would like to know just how much base data of our $70-100 game is set aside to be sold again in the store.

The prices are ridiculous. The BIG difference between those two games though, is that Diablo 4 is $70 and Destiny 2 is FREE. Either way, I'm not paying, but you have to acknowledge the elephant in the room.

Destiny 2 wasn’t always free before micro transactions were implemented and in order to keep up to date and play the current version of Destiny 2, you have to pay.

I get it, you want to defend Sony to the death but let’s not downplay $20 cosmetics because it’s Sony. You all complain about Warzone, that’s free too but here we are, different story when it’s a Sony owned property.

Destiny 2 is hardly free. The base game, which Bungie stripped half of it away and hasn't updated the other half, is free. The expansions are not free. You want to play Lightfall - that's $50. You want the current season - that's another $15. You want to play the new dungeon that just came out - that's $20. Cosmetics from the seasonal event - that's $10 for the privilege of grinding away at them.

You clearly don't play Destiny 2.

Problem is, most of these live service games drop feed content and/or release bare bones to begin with. I’m starting to prefer the $20-$30 expansion packs from before that included a years worth of “free updates”

We're talking about D4 right now. This is an excellent game with a ton of content at release. As of right they don't shove any MT in your face either. I haven't even looked at the shop tab.

Or voice our opinions and maybe they'll listen and reduce the prices to acceptable levels. It should ONLY be about £5 for most these cosmetic items not £20. Example why can't a goal explosion in rocket league be £2.99 NOT £17.99 or clothes £0.99 for boots or trousers and not £20 or armour/weapon skin £1.99 NOT £15/25.

If it was simply just an offer, that wouldn't be so egregious. However, it's never just an offer. It's always some mechanic tied to the MTXs, or some kind of psychological funnel. Even in the case of D4, it's the "don't miss out!" hard sales tactic, which just works on people and creates a predictable statistical revenue projection for Blizzard. It's predatory and makes the game they appear in altogether worse. You think that Diablo 4 content being released relies on the success of cosmetic MTXs in D4? Not the billions in revenue WoW subs still bring in?

Can you not allocate points yourself and they are automatic now? I read that is the case. I’m not buying the game now if ever but that just makes things worse to me. I don’t like these expensive cosmetics plus battle passes so I doubt I’ll ever buy the game now. I was planning on buying it someday when the complete edition comes out but I can live without it .

No and yes. You don't allocate stat points during 1-50. After you get the paragon board you start making choices on base stats and skill boosts. If you aren't following a guide there is plenty to play around with.

I was beyond excited when I heard we were finally getting Diablo 4. Then beyond sad when I realized it is only Diablo in name. I loved D2, and although many weren’t fans of D3, it was immeasurably better than this. Ya’ll kept saying “it’s only a 1$” then it was “it’s only 5$” then “ its…….”. Whatever this ride is, I want off. People are out here talking mad trash about Nintendo and games like Legend of Zelda looking dated, but at least people are getting a COMPLETE product. It’s obvious that the gaming base has officially split. The new generation doesn’t remember what the 90s and early 2000’s looked like. You used to walk into a store and slap xx amount of money on the table and that was it, it was yours, period. Didn’t have the worry about a digital library being shut off, didn’t have to worry about day one patches. If a game was broken, it failed. If a company didn’t deliver, it failed. If people were unsatisfied, it failed. But so many of these lemmings have said “it’s fine” for so long that you’ve created a new standard. Congratulations. I hope the morons screaming about this being an issue aren’t the same ones booting the game up right after they sign off, because the irony would not only be unreal but completely lost on them. I've been playing Diablo since the original and I have no idea what you mean by saying this is Diablo in name only.

So what do you mean? Because it has an online shop with cosmetic only items that only idiots would buy, that makes this no longer a Diablo game? Diablo 3 launched with an actual Auction House that required real money to buy legendary items. And they nerfed legendary item drops in the game to the point that you were lucky to find 2 legendaries in a single play through. So it forced you to spend real money in the auction house to get to a point that you could handle the Endgame content. And it was like this for a long time, until they basically remade the game for consoles 2 years later and removed the Auction House. Yet you are praising Diablo 3 over this? Get out of here, that's just crazy. I guess you don't remember all that, huh?

The biggest difference in Diablo 4 is there is a static overworld map instead of separate, randomly generated maps. And the skill tree is a new approach, but that is literally different in every single Diablo game. Every Diablo game has also had expansions, except the original, so you never bought a full experience with any of those either. (And technically the original did have an expansion with a new class and everything, but it wasnt official, so I wont count it.) Diablo 3 added seasons, but they were free, so that's a good update.

Diablo 2 and 3 Endgame were basically just playing through the story again on harder difficulties. You can even still do that in Diablo 4 if you want. There are just a lot more things you can do now also, rather than just running through the story. That should be praised, not hated on.

The game itself is Diablo through and through, and it has great Endgame content. But you're pissed off because there is a shop with expensive items that have no bearing on the game whatsoever that you dont need to buy? So you just ignore everything else about the game and act like its ruined? How is it Diablo in name only?

There are not many cosmetic items and the few are super over priced. Who want to buy the generic cosmetic it only tell your an idiot who spent 30e on that shit. Its a good thing they didnt spend any effort in predatory mtx. Just few overpriced skins for the fools. For real there are 3 skin sets for each class, not very unique i say.

This is the first game I’ve played where the earnable in game cosmetics are actually better than the store ones, including the mounts.

The PvP areas have some great cosmetics you can earn.
