At first, I wanted to know what Starfield was all about but after seeing the first gameplay trailer last year it looked boring like an NMS clone. If you want to bring FFXVI into the equation the gameplay that was shown a few days ago looks 100 times more exciting including more fun to play than Starfield. This new trailer had absolutely no type of gameplay but someone on a monitor running a character around a desert-like area, while the rest that was shown was corny CGI. You will boast anything associated with MS/XB as if it's GOTY even if they don't show any gameplay. MS may own Bethesda but MS/XB brand had nothing to do with the creation of Starfield. Starfield is still a Bethesda game...know that.

I don´t like games with messy and aimless button meshing mechanics, it has potential to make a gamer bored quite fast, I think they´re more suited for younger gamers. Not to mention that I found the main character to be OP while the enemy´s AI left a lot to be desired. But that´s just my initial impressions. I won´t crave a judgment just yet without more information.

What I saw is a very polished game running at butter-smooth 60fps on an actual Xbox Series X console, which is nothing but awesome news for gamers concerned about performance and polish issues. About the CGI... well... that´s the part I don´t expect you to you to understand, because, unlike NMS, Starfield is a story-driven game and the "anomaly" is quite a singular and complex part of it.

Starfield is an Xbox IP *funded* via Microsoft´s money and resources. The very reason WHY the game got delayed almost an year, is because Xbox Game Studios wants it to be the best game it can be.

I for one am really excited but also I am not going to buy into the hype because we all have been getting many disappointing AAA games over the last few years. One thing that worries me is how many times this game has been delayed. I play mainly on PC and the only Sony game I bought in the last 5? 6? years was Gran Turismo 7.

And Bethesda games are best played on PC thanks to mods..and especially bugfixes by the community.

Yeah, I'm guessing it isn't either, but you never know since this is an entirely new game on a next gen console. Maybe Bethesda is going for something different this time around. I personally wouldn't mind a multiplayer co-op feature, just not a MMO style multiplayer, i'm not a fan of those.

Space nut here too, I'm playstation but looking FWD to the deep dive.
I want to be able to play starfield as an explorer of moons and planets and NOT fussed about the shooting mechanics unless it's animal life which threatens me.
Do we know if you can play the game like that or not yet ? Or are we forced to shoot human enemies to progress the galaxies map?

Herein lies the. problem for BGS and MS. They are late again and they have set expectations unduly high now. The game will launch and potentially underwhelm relative to the expectations. This goes against all that Todd Howard preferred with short marketing lead times. They announced a date last year for November 2022 then pushed and now pushed again.

That was clearly in-game graphics, definitely enough that you can see the graphics and art style. If you watch the whole video, there are gameplay scenes that also look just as terrific.

See thats the difference though with no mans sky. No mans sky was fun but then it got boring fast with no type of story or however they did it. With this I think ill really enjoy due to it having something of a story as opposed to what no mans sky gave us.

I'm sure there will be a decent story mode to go with the game but for the rest, it looks (at the moment) as fun as exploring the open world of Metal Gears Soldi 5 meaning lots of barren terrain with nothing to really enjoy.

Yeah, this is seriously my only concern about the game. If you're just going around collecting rocks and scanning flora then count me out.

My issues come from the Ubisoft tropes of having a huge forgettable world with lots of generic things to do.
I'm not a huge fan of Skyrim but one of the things that I love about the world is how everything feels connected and distinct. You have a good idea of where you are on the map without the need to open it and each area has a certain charisma.

Weird. I'm hoping you and Pete are wrong or right (?) and this is more epic than NMS (which is fine). Because if this turns out more like Skyrim I'm going to buy a Series X to play this instead of playing on my old gaming PC.

Intersting thing to me is how they dont mention the platforms. Many times a developer will say that they cant wait for to get this released on "platforms" ...theyre written but not mentioned...obviously todd howard is wholly aware that starfield had been mentioned pre xbox purchase and the majority of their fanbase, being on playstation, was expecting the game...really wonder what Microsoft will do here when the game doesnt sell well on xbox...because it wont. If sony releases spiderman 2 around the same timeframe then theyre in for a surprise.
