Agreement Between Sony And Bloober Team Spotted Online, Hints At PS Plus Deal

Bloober Team has a "significant license and distribution agreement" with Sony.

Quite clear that this would be The Medium etc and has nothing to do with Silent Hill.

Any distribution agreement for PS+ would be between Sony and the publisher - which would be Konami for SH. The only agreement Bloober would sign for SH (if they are working on it) would be with Konami.

I have no clue how broad this agreement is, but nothing on it seems quite clear other than what is mentioned.

It could be new Bloober titles from their in-house IPs for sure, and/or their existing back catalog. It's vague for sure in that regard.

There's a few things we can derive with reasonable accuracy though:
1. It's not Silent Hill, since Bloober wouldn't need to grant the license to Sony. Konami would, unless Bloober have bought the IP.
2. "the new distribution system" is likely PS+ Premium.

I do hope a new SH game is really in development though, and hopefully it's more like 1-3 than the later entries. But I also hope it doesn't goto Bloober really, I don't think their past titles hold up well enough to be given the SH IP. Still salty we didn't get Kojima's Silent Hills.

Rumor has it they are working on the silent hill reboot. I hope it's true.

Slapping Silent Hill on a game like it won't make it good.

I thought it was great. With more resources i am sure Bloober team will be able to create something truly special.

The Medium was a step up from The Observer but I hope they keep Bloober as far away from Silent Hill as humanly possible. They do not have the pedigree.

I've heard there's a couple SH projects in the works. A traditional survival horror one, presumably the Bloober one, but also a more decision based game akin to Until Dawn that Kojima was attached to. Also one of those is to have PSVR2 support.

Bloober Team don't own the publishing rights to Silent Hill. That type of agreement would be with the publisher, Konami. This deal would be for Bloober's self-published titles such as The Medium and Observer.

Still grasping at this idea that Sony has this super secret deal with Konami that they're either purchasing them outright, or licensing their IP exclusively.
