New Xbox games revealed: Compulsion's 'Midnight' and Obsidian's 'Pentiment'

Its good to know the studios are busy on games but I cant get excited about stuff 3-4 yrs away. No I need to see them in action....too many times Ive been hyped for some future game, then it turns out to be something closer to another 'meh type game for me. Thats said, Im just glad Microsoft have heard us Xbox fans. They are finally focused on games, so I hope when the devs are ready to show something these two new IPs blow me away.

But honestly there isn’t that much black female protagonists. So that’s not a bad thing. Black female and Asian male protagonists isn’t that popular. So I’m glad for it.

This seems back handed somewhat. The fact that you notice black female protagonists means that there aren't that many to begin with!

I feel like the only people who have a problem with inclusion/representation are those who've had it for decades and somehow see it as an assault on them when others get even a little bit.

PS: Since when is Master Chief a black female? Also The Gunk is an indie game that's not being funded by Microsoft besides marketing.

Perhaps there are so few of them because they do not see themselves represented in the medium?? I know it's difficult for you to understand the concept of build it and they will come.

Also the latest stats show that female gamers make up 45% of all gamers now. That means even though white males make up less than 55% of the gaming population they are still vastly over represented in games yet bitch each time a minority group gets the limelight for a split second.

We Happy Few was highly interesting, but highly flawed.
I believe the studio can do great work with the right funding though.

As for Obsidian, I'm always excited to see new stuff coming down the pipeline.

Idk, I'm not sure I solely blame Compulsion for We Happy Few. WHF went through some huge changes during development. It started as a really interesting survival game. But people kept comparing it to BioShock and didn't like that it was a different type of game. So Compulsion took all the feedback and reworked it into the game people were asking for. But then they didn't like it lol.

Not sure how many employees they have, but having 4 games being built up in one studio concurrently cannot be easy to develop or manage... Obsidian are talented so im sure they could pull it off.
