I remember when not even a GTA could get a 10/10.. SA got like a 9.9/10 or something. I think God of War got a 9.8.

Yeah since they dropped the decimal point system so many games get 10.

There's probably only a handful of games that got a perfect 10 while that decimal place was being used like gta4, super Mario galaxy, rdr undead nightmare and a few others now it feels pointless where as 10 years back it meant something.

Average games were given 7.5 to 8 good games 8 to 9.5 games that raised the bar 9.5 and above and those rare gens ahead of their time a 10.
Now everything gets a 9

10's have lost their impact. Too big games get 10's on yearly basis. I feel like 10's should be given on rare occasions and should be held only for very select few

It's not really a broad appeal game, so I think a lot of people will be in the same boat as you.

It's more like RPGs from their glory days. Planescape, Fallout, Icewind Dale etc...although I've been playing this for a few hours and not even sure if it has a combat system at all! Not a bad thing though.

@VerminSC I think it can be described as fun. While you don’t fight, you have an incredible amount of agency over your character. It can be a lot of fun acting like a complete train wreck of a human being.

I'm kind of loving Wasteland 2: DC, but this is a little too much dialogue and text-based, love the graphics/art and direction, but it's also a no for me. I didn't grow up with text-based games nor am I a reader. I looked at the first Wasteland and remaster and I kinda felt Wasteland 2 would be more to my liking.

I'm loving it but god the interaction/movement bugs are quite bad. My character is basically frozen after interacting with any world object. Hopefully quick patch soon.

Otherwise it's exactly what I wanted, heavily choice/dialogue focused RPG. It's very funny as well.

One of the best RPGs I've ever played. Glad to see it coming to console, so more people can enjoy it.
As for me, I'm just happy for the free upgrade. The new content gives me an excuse to play it again, and I like that it's now a game I can sit back and play with a controller on PC.

Funnily enough, this part right in the beginning of the game with "reptilian brain" and "limbic system" talking about things like the void and whatnot is what got me in a bad mood to keep playing the game, seeing that it was trying too hard to be quirky.

This might sound a bit cliche, but the narration dialogue is supposed to come off as pretentious. (Minor character spoilers) The main character is essentially a highly intelligent detective with depression who drinks himself into absolute oblivion. The writing for his inner dialogue is meant to reflect his overly thoughtful, jaded, self-loathing inner voice that he tried to drink away. He literally finds his own thoughts annoying.

If you can get past those first impressions, the game really comes into its own. It feels like playing a Thomas Pynchon novel.

Love this game but not really for everyone. If you hate long dialogues and nothing really happening for hours then this game might also bore you to death.
