Crysis Core on PSP was fantastic, and I'd love to see that redone on next-gen systems. It's pretty clear that FF7 is one of the more loved storylines that they created and they know that, so why not capitalize on that? They are running a business after all.

They have been capitalizing on that though for years, other FF games deserve some love aswell you know, otherwise it's just going to feel like we're being suffocated. If you are making a remake of VII then your spin off could be other FF titles to keep things fresh so when FFVII Part II comes out you won't end up feeling sick of the VII Universe.

Least give us a prequel / sequel / animated film / remake of something FFVI, VIII or IX related

This sounds more like it’ll be a Crisis Core Remaster. I doubt it’ll be a Remake or it could be a mobile game spin off. Hell, it could be a book or anime short. Who knows with Square?

To be fair the world of FF7 lends it to more opportunities for spin-offs than any of the other installments. Maybe you could do more with FF 15, but not sure many people would want that.

People either have no imagination or just wanna whine about everything. Did it ever occur to you all that this being a multi part remake meant that they were going to integrate Crisis Core as one of the parts of the remake? You're all so caught up in believing it was episodic that you forgot FF has had games with direct sequels in the past

but it is being episodic. First game literally told 10% of the original game's story. Not saying Zack's story won't be touched upon but I highly doubt you'll be experiencing fights against multiple Genesis clones, how Zack actually met Yuffie as a child or being haunted by "activating combat mode" months after stop playing the game.

There's a few things that these could be. One or both could be a mobile game spin-off, Ever Crisis could be a Before Crisis remake of some kind, one or both could be subtitles for HD collections of the Compilation games, or they might even be subtitles for the different parts of the Remake. One or both of them could even be new games in the Compilation series - something I've personally wanted for years. I'm open to any of the above except perhaps a mobile game mainly because mobile games aren't really that fun (because of the gacha) and they typically only last a year before getting shut down, and then they're lost to history. Still, this is interesting news and I hope something cool comes of it. Definitely going to be checking in on this regularly.

EDIT: These could also be DLC for the first part of the Remake.

When FF7 remake is completely finished meaning all of the episodes, I hope the next remake is FF6. I'm just not sure if there's a big enough demand for it though

Everybody knows the only reason FF6 is being brought up was simply because it was the last final fantasy on Nintendo before moving on to Playstation/PC & Xbox (13,15). For everybody else who are not stuck to just playing on nintendo only systems. FF7,8,9,10,12,13,14 MMO,15 are all a better game than FF6.
