Small, but this developer has a history of large games, so I'm not worried.

roadkillers1650d ago

Okay, as long as your not worried. It's probably jam-packed with stuff to do

Don't forget they have a whole environment set in a virtual world along side the physical one. We don't know yet how big it'll be.

I am really curious how the development of this game has been. From what I can tell it's been very far from smooth sailing. Came off a high for Witcher 3 that just completely established them as a triple A developer. Witcher 1 and 2 were good, but Witcher 3 was a big step. Think they may have gotten a bit overconfident when they went into developing Cyberpunk 2077. Hopefully it'll still be an awesome game, pretty sure it will be.

Also, I'm a bit disappointed that most open world games let you see the whole map from the start. I'd like to get surprised and get to areas I didn't know was going to be in the game.

It's a large city, so you have to factor in verticality as well.

NecrumOddBoy1649d ago (Edited 1649d ago )

Yes, an entire building could consist of hundreds of stores, apartments and more. The verticality of this game is the foundation of it's size.

Size =/= Square Mileage in Cyberpunk 2077 and that's super awesome.

They did say you'll have vertical exploration seeing as you have huge skyscraper buildings and underground tunnels.

I’m happy the map isn’t as sprawling as the assassins creed games. Give us a dense map packed with stuff to do and see. I’m sure this will be a hit

FanboyPolice1650d ago (Edited 1650d ago )

I have learned that bigger is not always better. I recently start playing Fallout 4 for the first time and even though the map is not as big as GTA V, is more entertaining. It rewards exploration.

I’m totally fine with this smaller sized map if interiors are fully fleshed out. I’d rather this map with density opposed to some endless expanse like assassins creed odyssey.

"It’s incredibly difficult to figure out a way where New Game Plus could be done in a way that doesn’t completely break the way the game is constructed,"

Yet in 2020 i had this mode via a mod they are actually saying that your powers can screw up v's infection for those unaware pre the big update so it might not be a thing anymore but if you maxed out v with save editor your character would get sick see johnny all that but still would be in the first part.

Here is a very old vid of mine you can see how it can screw up the game
https://youtu.be/fCdo_Bowle...

So they could do it if they did not spend years making a mess of everything then last minute toss a game out half done.

I can’t think of any deaths that had any meaning to me as a player. Life is cheap in Night City.
