If it's next year then I wonder how much pressure From soft are in to develop these games.
I mean sekiro just released this year and if elden ring is next year then that's overkill.

UltraNova1728d ago (Edited 1728d ago )

From Soft has 300+ devs. Its a huge studio, they must be divided into two(or more) teams. So Elden Ring and one new IP (probably a Sony Exclusive as per their deal) are currently being developed.

???
Where does it mention it will be Sony exclusive?

thatguyhayat1728d ago

Spurg

Elden Ring isn't playstation exclusive, however they did mention few years back they had a few playstation game exclusives in development

Felix_Argyle_Catbro1728d ago (Edited 1728d ago )

According to Wikipedia, as of 2018, From Software has 283 employees.

MasterChief36241728d ago

@Felix - It's safe to assume that number has increased, not crazy to imagine it being considerably. We are now in the second half of 2019.

mikeslemonade1728d ago

These guys just make the best games. This is the best series in video games.

From is a massive studio my man, look at this information here. Dark Souls 2 released in March 2014. Then Bloodborne came out in March 2015. Then Dark Souls 3 came out in April 2016. And all 3 games had major DLC expansions in between that time. Then Sekiro finally came this year, which was bizarre that it took them this long to make their next game. So that tells me that they were working on that plus Elden Ring at the same time which is why they will most likely release it next year. We already have lots of evidence of this happening with their past games. Now as for this article, it's probably just a placeholder. June 30th 2020 sounds like a generic holding date. But I still think it's coming next year. Possibly to launch with PS5 and Xbox 2 in the Fall.

william_cade1728d ago

The 2 people working in From's basement are way overworked.

Forn1727d ago

It's just one now. Miyazaki.

seanpitt231727d ago

Don't forget after dark souls 3 we didn't see a game from them for years so that would been the time they made these multiple games

Can't wait to see some gameplay for this. Elden Ring and Cyberpunk are the two big dogs for me.

Veneno1728d ago

Cool news. I'm hoping this and TLOU 2 both come out first half of 2020. I love gaming goodness overload. Reminds me of 2001 2008 and 2009. Those were awesome jam-packed years for me.

nucky641728d ago

i keep hearing LoU2 is in february and dying light 2 in april. now, add elden ring in june???? amazing.

Rambokind1728d ago

We haven't seen any real footage yet, and then this? This is how developers lose their way. What a joke.

xX-oldboy-Xx1728d ago

Or - generate hype from the people involved, drop a trailer and them release 3 - 6 months later. That sounds good to me.

Kai Cenat Is Taking on the Entire Souls Franchise

ESTNN writes: "His past game marathons came with redesigned streaming rooms, costumes, cameos and other hyped additions. But the longest one of them all proved to be with FROMSOFTWARE's magnum opus: Elden Ring."

I hate to be that guy but, who cares?

Elden Ring Killed Gaming For Me & It's About To Do It Again

Saad from eXputer: "Utilizing its myriad strengths and masterful design, Elden Ring ruined gaming for me in a way I'll always be thankful for."

GhostScholar22d ago

It sounds like you’re just an eldenring fan and not so much a fan of games by and large. Which theres nothing wrong with.

RoadRacer21d ago

The author's profile appears to state otherwise. I believe they just got a massive shock with Elden Ring, something that stuck around. To each their own I guess

Crows9021d ago

Elden ring ruined from software for me....maybe.

I hope their next game isn't open world too...

ravens5221d ago

I have yet to beat Elden Ring. Not cause it's too hard , I've beaten Sekiro, Bloodborne, Demon Souls etc. Also I could just make my character op but I prefer to play under leveled. It's too big. I beat Radaghan or the moon lady last then got lost, lost for years lol. I'm going to beat it tho. Haven't played it in a while

Crows9021d ago

I platinumed the game but hated the open world aspect...started great but then after a bit you notice all the repeated dungeons and bosses...it got massively tedious and much preferred late game areas in a typical souls game than the open world repetition.

GhostScholar21d ago

The ole “I’m so good at hard games I had to play under leveled to get challenged and if I worked that hard in real life I wouldn’t be working at Walmart”

ravens5220d ago

? Don't work at Walmart or any type of retail...lol. But w.e. Makes you feel better about ya sad life 🤷🏽 lol. You probably just suck at games lmao.

I loved it but yeah it is just overwhelmingly massive and confusing, I don’t think I’ll ever finish it.
