It's starting to feel like Epic is picking all the good players for dodgeball, and Valve is just standing there. But that's not quite true.
The store exclusivity drama is only going to heighten from here.
Coming to Game Pass: Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II, Immortals of Aveum, Lords of the Fallen, and more!
Just recently finished playing Immortals of Aveum on PSplus extra, can definitely recommend it to those who like fps magic wielding type games, it's really good.
I own & played Immortals Of Aveum & Lords Of The Fallen already. The only game on that list I'm going to try is Hellblade 2.
Chants Of Sennaar is a favorite of mine, if you like to figure things out as you go, literally decipher what the hell is going on, play it it's amazing
With Arkane Austin no more and Lyon living for who knows how long, the superb Dishonored is in serious danger; Microsoft cannot be trusted.
I love the Dishonored series so much and really want Dishonored 3. Microsoft better not screw this up.
I mean, I think the fans will probably kill Arkane Lyon by cooking up reasons to hate whatever they do next without playing it. I've never seen a game so artificially disliked as Deathloop.
Lol, why don't we just say, we are worried about all studios owned by MS now. They will keep closing studios until they have none left ...🙄
I think it's becoming clear based on matt bootys comments there's no future for any IP that can't sell above 10 million within the launch window. But is also a small game that gives them prestige
/S it's beyond a joke right now
Microsoft & Xbox have shut down Arkane Austin and Tango Gameworks to lay off more workers, insinuating that they're not in the game anymore.
They're headless for a long time because closing tango isn't exactly a good move
Everyone's acting now that game companies care about games and Xbox is committing the Ultimate betrayal, they are all like this and you have just been quiet about it for far too long
I wonder if Microsoft do pull out of the console market that it might open the door for valve to relaunch the Steambox. Competition is good for the industry but Microsoft don't even seem to be trying anymore.
“Your game has won some pretty significant awards and is a show piece for where we want to go in the future.”
1 hour later.
“We’re gonna have to let you go. You can’t cover our 100 billion dollar acquisition. Oh and take your awards too 👍🏾”
"Exclusivity"--no; I still don't get it. I get that God of War is exclusive, because I have an Xbox and not a PS4. But my PC is wide open to all comers. Nothing is excluded from me there, regardless of who sells it to me.
I think it's a bad time for PC gaming. A year ago was a great time. Everything basically releases on PC now, Steam was looked at as the platform for PC outside specifics which was fine etc. Everything was simple and such. Then Discord and Epic opens stores and epics using all it's fortnite money to make a mess out of PC gaming. I only went to PC because of Steams ability to unify the PC space and make everything enjoyable under 1 umbrella. Epic thankfully hasn't grabbed a game I care for but they're doing the thing that made me avoid PC gaming all this time. Like Unreal and fortnite I wouldn't complain about. I don't complain about Black Ops 4, Destiny or Overwatch etc. Ubisoft allows buying of most games on Steam still, just connected to Uplay etc. That's all fine. But the moment it became a platform paying to take exclusives away like Rise of the Tomb Raider was. It's a problem. I think indies going to Epic makes sense and I wouldn't be mad at that. But games with initial intentions to release on Steam but change because of a timed exclusive money hat lol. That's a mess. Epics has shown the lack of care for anyone but themselves and are trying to mask it in the devs 12% vs 30% situation. Why? Because they're the same ppl who had the nerve to actually release Fortnite on Android through installing a unofficial apk because they didn't want to share profits with the platform holder. They're just selfish and greedy. It's the same ploy MS pulls with the crossplay, they're only willing to share games with Switch because Sony said no to the XBL request and that's the main competitor. The moment sony started, they stopped until they found out it isn't exactly as easy to get the okay as ppl hoped. Then they started with sharing games lol. Hell, MS probably isn't having the BS and why it's MCC is coming to steam lol. Because they could have been a MS store exclusive
“Top 10 anime betrayal..”
Wtf? I’ve never heard that expression before, hahaha
Why is it that they're pushing so hard for exclusivity. Why cant games release on both platforms? The problem is that Epic knows it's the far inferior store and to compensate they're just going to throw a lot of money at the big publishers and devs to buy exclusivity. So instead of actually building up their store to legitimately compete with steam they've opted to hold games hostage. Just make sure you never have a card on file in the Epic store.
