"Getting sick of Steam"

Why? I genuinely want to know what it is about Steam that can make you, or any pc gamer, get sick of it.

Best deals for games (through Steam, Humble Bundle, Fanatical, CD Keys, and the riskier ones like ebay, Kinguin, G2A)

How exactly can you get sick of Steam if it offers you everything and more than any other store?

"They need to keep major games Epic store only"

What? So basically you're asking for companies to buy the rights to hold pc games exclusively on their store? Why would any pc gamer want that? What benefit does that have for you? I don't fancy installing all of these launchers with multiple user names, passwords and bank / paypal details, just to play the odd game now and again. I don't see any benefits for us at all.

Steam is fine but with competion comes creativity and even better deals, it's a win win for gamers.

I'm not sure why the Epic game store is getting so much hype. Origin offers a pretty good experience when compared to Steam, but we don't see articles praising origin. Honestly, as a gamer, I couldn't care less what profit sharing policies Steam has vs Epic, for developers.

I know that profit sharing policies will have no bearing on where I play the games I want to play. As a consumer, I want a good user interface, good return policies and great deals on games from time to time, and Steam checks all of those boxes, as does Origin.

At the end of the day, Epic having their own store is just fine, and I wish them all the best. Personally though, being that Tencent, who owns Epic, is a Chinese owned corporation, with connections to the Chinese Communist Party, I have zero interest in using their service.

What a pompous article premise.

They aren't doing anything different for the consumer so why would people think they will make history?

Epic is just another store like GoG. It has a good chance of surviving longer.

I also find it hysterical that about 4 months ago we saw articles saying we don't want every company to create stores and here we are with another store and the media is loving it.

This does nothing for the consumer that any other platform doesn't.

When Epic thinks of the consumer and does something special I will consider it but right now Epic already made a bad impression with their lack of customer service so the idea of dealing with them for online license management seems like a bad idea.
