Blizzard responds to Diablo: Immortal backlash

Polygon: Diablo team stresses that they have multiple Diablo projects in development.

PapaBop2032d ago (Edited 2032d ago )

"THEY WERE NOT PREPARED!"

That comment hands down the best and most appropriate comment on the whole controversy. Still, Blizzard had a good run post Activision merger/acquisition thing but reading Blizzard's response on this just confirms that the Blizzard I've been following for over two decades now is as good as dead. They have in the past cancelled game developments because they didn't meet Blizzard's level of quality, they've gone from that to whoring their franchise to a Chinese developer famous for creating reskins, truly a sad day for us Blizzard fans.

i m surprised that all the fans have uproared suddenly ,,,,Was original Diablo 3 any good ??? FK NO ....Blizzard was dead since the the launch of Diablo 3 and the first WoW expansion............there was nothing relevant in these games with old good Blizzard (Diablo 1,2 , Warcraft 3 , vanilla WoW, etctc)....they were completely cheap ass games, poor in every aspect (gameplay , art , concept , story) obviously martyred the Activision hands on Blizzard ....i stopped following blizzard since then

If blizzard want to make a mobile game they can do and it's likely going to be successful

King_Noctis2032d ago

It is no doubt that it gonna be successful with the casual. But they are doing that by pissing off their core fans, the ones who help brought them to the limelight. Also you should remember that the world of mobile gaming is very different from the console/pc space. The mobile causal move on very fast to the next big thing, they don’t stick to one particular game like the core fans.

Sirk7x2032d ago

Wanna know what sucks? As a business, your primary job is to make money, and nowadays, catering to core fans instead of appealing to the masses means you throw away money.

Armaggedon2031d ago

They are not just trying to make alot of money with this. They are trying to make all of the money. There is a difference.

Livingthedream2031d ago

Why are the core fans upset about this? Serious question, not sure what all the heat is about.

Old McGroin2032d ago

I agree. And I think we can confidently admit now that gamers are officially the most entitled species on the planet. If not the entire universe.

PapaBop2032d ago

But they're not making a mobile game, they're outsourcing one to China.

Blizzard responded by censorship and pure PR bull*...

This will go down in history as one of the worst game reveals in gaming industry...

Bismarn2032d ago

When people talk about the PC master race, Blizzcon is their con. I can't imagine a worse venue to announce a mobile game, and hype it like it's Diablo 4 is the insulting part. It's fine for them to make a mobile Diablo, just as it's fine for them to sell Diablo shirts, but it's not an actual game to Blizzcon folk. If Blizzard had just announced Immortal with a press release the Diablo fanbase wouldn't be in an uproar because they wouldn't have even bothered to read the release. Mobile gaming isn't the next step of game, it's just an entirely different industry. Hence even though there are hundreds of millions more mobile players, there are few articles about mobile here on N4G and those that show up aren't read.

MWH2032d ago (Edited 2032d ago )

"the world is evolving" he said, for whom exactly? with all the technologies available people are becoming more contained and controlled is how I see it.

the relationship between a corporate and a normal human being is the same between a predator and its prey, wolves and sheep, master and slave. don't let anyone fool you with the opposite and if you disagree then clearly, you're a part of the former.

"Creating Completely New Class for Whales"

«Tempest» with water and lighting, blue-green color scheme, wow, so original. I've got a new idea - «Volcano» with power of fire and earth, brown-red color scheme, ain't it great?! /s

Cinematic in the trailer is so cheapely made, for anything Blizzard-related, it's such a shame. Also, looks like they combined monk and blood knight(?) abilities, kinda makes it look like an afterthought.

How the mighty have fallen...
