PUBG team got help from Gears of War developers The Coalition for Xbox port

Since the announcement of their partnership, Microsoft says they’ve given enhanced support to the team at PUBG Corporation to bring Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds to market. That includes loaning them the time and expertise of The Coalition, makers of Gears of War 4.

glad to see a village is helping not just port but make this game as well. The guys over at Rare also helped pubg with the water technology

It’d be nice to have Coalition develop other games besides Gears of War

maybelovehate2363d ago

Yeah, I agree. Would love to see them make a new IP. Or maybe even do their take on Perfect Dark.

mokkeyrg22363d ago

I think they have projects we dont know about

Ausbo2362d ago

Yeah that would be nice. One team develop gears and another do a new IP or something

PhoenixUp2363d ago

Dang Microsoft is really banking on this title.

You never see them have Coalition or 343i working on non Gears of War and Halo titles.

kevnb2363d ago

The game is insanely huge on pc, Microsoft is hoping it will be huge for Xbox as well.

24mil sold for an early access game that came out this year is pretty good on a platform that's supposedly "dead"

NXFather2362d ago

Well honestly this is an adrenaline shot for a bedridden man. Not arguing about PC's supremacy but, games are not triple AAA status.

FinalFantasyFanatic2362d ago

It would be nice if they helped tighten the overall optimization for PUBG, but it will probably just make optimizations for xbox.

_-EDMIX-_2362d ago

Except that's actually not something that's uncommon it's actually quite normal for some first-party teams to assist a third-party team on a port on a system that there not familiar with.

And I'm not sure what you mean by exclusivity because this game is already multi-platform by default anyway.

343_Guilty_Spark2361d ago

It’s console exclusive. Read the line at the end of the latest trailer “Xbox Only”...course you can still get it on PC. Before it was saying Console Launch exclusive.

LateNightThirst2362d ago

The Coalition has talent, but Microsoft's gotta let these guys fly, I get Gears is their thang, but really a new IP in between a Gears title wouldn't be bad

PFFT2362d ago

I agree! Ms needs to let go of those reins and let the developers do their thing.

Krysis2362d ago

This is exactly what needs to happen.
