I likly won't buy GT simply because I'm not into racers but it's always impressive when it comes out. I remember back in ps1 and 2 days when I was like dam this looks almost real. In comparison to other racers back then it was on another level.

Listen bud. I think Forza looks pretty great. But even Driveclub looks better than Forza "in my opinion" the amount of detail placed in those car models is absolutely insane. Plus, you can enjoy admiring all the detail in Photo Mode.
Gran Turismo looks amazing in its own right. Better looking than Forza "in my opinion"

Seriously though, GT has gone from initial critique concerning visuals to breakdowns of tech that actually allow it to display colors that pics and film cannot even display.

I have a feeling that by the time it releases, especially in 4k on Pro, it will set a new benchmark. Now, this doesn't mean that it will be more fun, that damage has been added, or that Forza won't have upped the game a year from now. I like how it's moving forward!

These are in-game assets so technicaly they look good as CGI. In realtime where everything is happening. The graphical intensity, compute load and othe players, GT will look best as Forza. Don't be fooled by screenshot and ingame trailers. Sure HDR will lighten up the game but no way will be as good as the screenshots suggest in REAL ingame gameplay. This is true for allot of games. I hate this false advertisement. It should be banned.

Don't get me wrong I love racing games but so far this gen the only ones ive really enjoyed are forza horizon 2/3 and forza 6. 5 was really 4.5 driveclub was a let down yes looks amazing but stopped there. Project cars again a let down. I am also warey of the next GT as for me GT5 was a mess and felt like a half finished game. 6 was better but still having premium and none premium cars spoils it imo. As for shot like this most racing games have them and I tend to look past them as none of the are in game. For me forza 6 and horizon 3 are the 2 racing games for others to beat in looks and content. If GT comes alone and beats it then it will be the bench mark but for me they have a lot to fix/change from 5 and 6

How about focusing on innovation besides graphics? Like sounds, damage model, or basic contact interaction between cars? Hell how about a career mode that isn't just a series of bland events? I love the style of GT, that jazz, menus, it has this charm of a prestigious premium. Yet the whole game mechanisms didn't change at all.

I consider photo modes to be mostly fake. Like a bullshot. It's not the graphics of actual gameplay. Resolution is often higher for a cleaner image. You can render the frame at 1 fps if you need to.

One problem with bragging about how awesome HDR is and posting pictures of it...Unless you bought a high end TV in 2016, you can't see HDR and I'm not very sure of how it would translate in a .jpg even if you did.
