Cut to the chase...

The point of this review is not about the PSVR itself. That one have been praised for actually do a very decent job plus having a very promising VR games support.

The point is to criticize PS4 hardware for VR because of RIFT and VIVE minimum requirements on PC.

Reviews of PSVR working with PS4. Are we gonna get another review for PS4 Pro and PSVR. Because if most reviews are positive on vanilla PS4. Im assuming its only better.

I think it was gamespot that said the games looked considerably better on the Pro than it did on the "vanilla", I just can't wait to play Mafia 3 on this baby. I know, I know defeats the purpose but it's the first game I want to try on it. lOl

Interesting thanks, and looking at the article after the link provided at the end of the article after this link (yeah, take your time to figure this out if you have to, lol), it's also interesting to see the amount of hassle it is to set up the Vive. Wow, I had no idea how cumbersome that is.

Very good article. It really gives insight to PSVR and explains very well the problems with it. Maybe people should wait and see if there will be updates that could help some. Because he doesn't even think the lower of the PS4Pro can.

No one, ever, should be advised to wait it out because of something Kotaku says, nor should they base any of their purchasing decisions based on what Kotaku says.

I don't care if what they say is what everyone else says, Kotaku is about their own ego, and their own agendas. They care nothing about gaming, or relaying important or relevant information to inform their readers, and only care about serving themselves and their own status within gaming.

Kotaku, at no time, has ever been that astute on technical issues, so taking their opinion on what they think something can or can't do should be taken with a huge grain of salt, and researched independently.

Now, if you have something to back up Kotaku's assertions here, and would like to post them to help solidify your argument, then by all means, feel free.

I think psvr should have cost more and had better hardware for better performance. It may be cheaper than the competition but it's not as good.

I just went to a project cars event last night at my buddies simulator shop and were using oculus HMDs and it was fantastic. They had not one of the problems people are saying about psvr (i ordered psvr btw but now I'm less excited for it to arrive).

You guys can get mad and disagree with me but it doesn't change the fact that you definitely want more power to run vr. psvr may be th cheapest option but it also seems to perform like it.

I don't think VR experiences have to be ultra realistic graphically ... some good VR experiences i had are on Gear VR.

Sony should have ditched the move controller. I still have the 2 move controllers that I got at launch and it's just not accurate enough for shooters, and the tracking is flimsy.

I don't think so. Maybe it's good enough for you but I want it to be accurate accurate. When you hold the controller still, it still moves a bit on its own. Every 10mins or so you need recalibrate it as it ever so slightly drifts off. Sony knew this issue and designed the calibration button to be easily accessible.

The tech is not quite there yet for me, but I hope it'll be successful enough for 2nd gen to occur so I can buy that.

@ Funglip ah yeah, it would do that now that I remember, but I haven't tried it with the ps4 camera. It might be that the fault lies with the ps3 camera, but we'll see.

This one feels like it's a bit agenda driven like from someone who is absolutely not interested in VR. I say this because of the dozen or so reviews I've read nobody comes off anywhere close to the degree of this guys' displeasure with the peripheral. I honestly look at all the impression vids and see people having a blast.

While there's no denying of the available high end VR models PSVR is the least powerful the fact still remains that it produces a fairly impressive experience regardless. I, for one, am eagerly awaiting to get to play this and to have friends and family over just to experience something new and fun. Some people I swear try to spit venom all over this VR prospect.

Also yes, Kotaku I'll never be able to take seriously either.

I know there are a ton of people on N4G that don't want to see anything negative about PSVR. But if you're a reasonable, rational person and are on the fence about it, go check out the giantbombs 5 hour live stream of PSVR. You really get a sense of some of the issues Kotaku is raising here. For me, its a 'wait and see' product. The Pro may improve it dramatically, as well as some firmware updates but for now, there were plenty of calibration problems. Some framerate chugging and kinectesque 3d model warping. As far as the current lineup goes it seems like short experiences that you're gonna play once and not touch again. I know there are more games coming when PSVR hits the shelves next week but so far it seems to be a lot of money to spend on something I'll rarely use after the first week I buy it
