The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Review - A New Classic - The Koalition

Anthony Nash from The Koalition writes "I usually tend to reserve judgement for games after I’m a fairly decent way through them. I definitely don’t consider games “Game of the Year” worthy after only playing them for a short time. However, only a few hours into The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, I knew that this game was amazing and that it is already on the short list for best games of 2015."

I'm thinking of checking out the series at some point. May consider getting the first two games before trying this out. Just want to be immersed in the series at some point.

Highest score I think I've seen on the site. Postponed my purchase and still trying to figure out if I want it on PC or PS4, but I can't wait to play.

This isn't a GOTY candidate. This IS Game of The Year plain and simple.

3 - Shadowrun Trilogy
4 - Wasteland 2
5 - UnderRail
6 - Tyranny
7 - Torment: Tides of Numenera

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave52d ago (Edited 52d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.
