Whoa! I can't wait to play this! Looks truly epic!

I now see why they called their tech demo REAL WORLD RULES.The physics is simply amazing and they graphics can not be faulted.

"Previously on Alone in the dark" is simply a great cinematic touch to the game.

Was going to rent it but now it has become a day one purchase.

Just Wow! What an action with superb GFX and effects! Only on XBOX. PS3 version will have less resolution as usual :) Just watch the last video - "Driving" what an action!

This type of games proves that this generation XBOX don't need Blue-Ray because all it's cut scenes will be rendered realtime on DX10- class video chip inside it. XBOX is DX9 and DX10 class hardware while PS3 is only DX9. future games will show us very big differenses between DX9 and DX10 level of GFX(and don't tell me that PS3 use OpenGL, i know that and i talk about "level" of GFX. Verson of DirectX uses to describe the complixity of GFX now because it simple and clear).

I still see no reason why i need PS3. I don't like slow action like MSG4, boring GT5p, kids LBP and i have many jRPG on my xbox 360. give me a reason to buy a PS3. KillZone 2? Maybe. But it's the only game game on PS3 which looks promising to me with good GFX. to make it possible it costs superb budjet to make this type of GFX on PS3. i doubt many games will have that budget in the future and XBOX DX10 level class hardware will cabaple produce this type of GFX with very big uses of partical and light effects as in KillZone2.

An it is an unexpected XBOX 360 exclusive.

Boldy5862d ago

The PS3 version is still coming it's release date just hasn't been announced yet.

iMad5862d ago

I've been very impressed.

Well this is certainly shaping up better then I expected.
I like that the fire is dyanmic and interacts with the environment.
I dont like how your character seems to be sleep walking through the missions and I am still concerned that this will not be a complete game, and instead an ongoing episodic show with the required subscritption and such. I dont want it unless its an actual complete game.

That genuinely, genuinely sucks. The reboot has clear flaws, but it really felt like a solid first step for this team to receive *greater* investment.

Alone in the dark is a fun game so that's unfortunate

CrimsonWing6946d ago

Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t that the norm after a project is done?

Terry_B46d ago

That's standard. Teams are together for a Project, after its done some..and sometimes most devs are fired until the next Project is in the works and people are needed again. Only the core members stay in the time between the hot phase of the game development.

CrimsonWing6946d ago

What’s annoying is people don’t understand how contractors work, either. All of this is uninformed knee-jerk reactions without any understanding of how employment works in this industry. There are key developers and staff that stay with a studio/publisher, but often times it’s a hire per project and then seeking new employment for a project. That’s how it’s always been…

coolbeans45d ago

That's a fair point too. I would say that in light of its tepid critical/commercial response and ongoing mass layoffs across the industry I think it's understandable for fans to worry about the longer-term implications. We'll see how it plays out in the future.

Alone in the Dark (XS) Review | VGChartz

VGChartz's Lee Mehr: "In one sense, it feels strange to even think Pieces Interactive had big shoes to fill with this series' legacy. Given what's come before, did it really? And yet, even when considering the last two flops over a two-decade span, there's still something about Alone in the Dark emblazoned on a title screen that carries a sense of revered history. In that respect, perhaps this reboot's best accomplishment is in honoring that spirit through its inventive world. It's also fair to emphasize knocks against its survival-horror design, some puzzle-solving, and so on; it certainly won't be considered a trendsetter like the 1992 classic. Still, the amount of goodwill wedded to its brighter qualities makes for something that dawdles the line between unfortunately-flawed and impressively-enticing."

Alone in the Dark review [SideQuesting]

The new Alone in the Dark remake doesn't do anything especially noteworthy, but that doesn't mean it's bad. It's just... cromulent.
