100 Reasons Fanboys Hate Xbox

Microsoft was already a widely reviled company before it set its sights on the videogame hardware market. Though the Xbox brand has been successful at taking the fight to Sony's PlayStation products, a seemingly bottomless supply of anti-Microsoft sentiment still exists in the gaming community.

Games Radar have rounded up the one hundred most common reasons why fanboys hate Xbox, and condensed them down to a blistering two minutes of pure, unfettered videographic rage. What's that, you say? You love your 360? Don't worry: it's going to be a long, hate-filled week.

Lol, I think that is funny about all the ones complaining about voice chat and friend requests. Because those are the things lacking in other online services everyone cries for.

The rest was right on though.

Jack Meahoffer5909d ago

Dur good stuff dur...

Hate all you want. Maybe, maybe by Christmas the PS3 will have copied the basic features the 360 has had since it launched. For a future proof console it sure can't handle basic online functionality like universial in game chat. If it could handle it then it would be out already...

Future proof lol thats a joke

360sucks5909d ago

this is what i want 2 see
good sh!t here

sonarus5909d ago

lol @jack. You are funny but personally i would rather just manage chatting with the ppl i am currently playing with than to live in constant fear of rrod. The fan noise is also terribly annoying.

PS3 online may be lacking but it is far from prehistoric like most ps3 haters want to believe. Soon enough it will get its patch that will implement this features that should have been there since launch but at least they are there now.

rosebowl235909d ago

This video is spot on. There's tons of other bad things about the 360 missing though.

Bleucrunch5909d ago

Seriously all these types of post do is promote flame wars and it needs to stop.....We all have our preferences but this will only lead to a lot of uneducated bable. I dont know maybe I dont know what I am talkin about.

Sanhlami5908d ago

Next time I see a Xbox 360 fanboy bragging or bagging I'm going to send this video to them. No words are even needed to say now just a video explaining all I need to say. NICE WORK!

an emotional attachment was made that started with PS1. If they just knew it was unrequited love.

So I guess the people that use video games to help with the loss of a loved one are losers?

TheExecutive5909d ago

I think we can all agree that video games serve some form of escapism. Its the amplitude of escapism that can cause problems. However, even video games can provide some very good therapy now and again.

Nameless5909d ago

I guess by the end of this week we can expect an 100 Reasons Fanboys Hate The PS3 video

PeeboDaKilla5909d ago

haha, nah it wouldn't be approved :P

Bonsai12145909d ago

peebo, sad thing is thats probably true... now is it lame.. its a feature article from a respected gaming site

le killer5909d ago (Edited 5909d ago )

100 reason to hat sony would'nt get approved on here! too many sony fanboys have approval rights!! i love the term future proof when used in conjunction with the ps3. do the sony fanboys really think that sony will not release another console shortly after microsofts next offering in 2010?? coz if they don't, and they stick with their "console to last 10 years" then it will be over! apart from the hardest hardcore of fanboys, the rest will move on to nintendo or microsoft!

future proof lol suckers! especially the early adopters who paid through the nose! for slightly more, i got a wii and a 360... i will get a ps3 at the end of the year when it's cheap, and resistance2 is out.

xhairs5909d ago

So...you're saying xbox will put out a new console in 2010 but yet you want to buy a ps3 in 2009? Why would you do such a thing if you yourself didn't feel it was the least bit future proof? PS3 has been out a year and it's still got HUGE loads of potential, the xbox hit it's peak in 3 years. Give me a break...

le killer5909d ago

what sh!t! plus, it's not been out 3 years. anyway, how long have you been gaming?? not long i take it! because you would know that no console has hit it's peak in that time span! the longer developers have with it, the more they will get out of it! just look at what's happening with the ps3 now...

i want a blu-ray player, and i want resistance2. and i'm interested in seeing how killzone 2 will turn out! seeing how sony have been putting some games on dedicated servers, i'm hoping that they will put it out with 24players on dedicated servers! if not, i get 60 on resistance2, and a blu-ray player. lovely

Cicinho5908d ago

Sony never said anything about not bringing out a PS4 shortly after the Xbox but when they say the PS3 is built to last 10 years then that means there not going to stop making games for it when the new one comes out, like Microsoft tend to do.

The PS2 has lasted 8 years now I dont see any reason for the PS3 not to last 10 years, weather the PS4 is out or not.

le killer5908d ago

when sony said the ps3 would last for ten years, i'm sure they did'nt just mean they would support it for that long! besides, after having a good five years from a console, when i upgrade to the the next offering, i would rather the console maker throw all their resources behind their new machine! not continue with the last machine. why bother with all the r&d, and exspense of it, if they're not gonna be behind 100%. i don't want a half arsed effort! if third party developers want to continue to make games then so be it! but imo when a new console comes out, who-ever makes it, should then focus everything on it!

once the spanking new console is sitting under my hdtv, i won't to know that this is their prime focus, not the console that was before it!

Moving In My 30s Made Me Nostalgic For Physical Games

GL: "Staff writer Shaz reflects on his small library of physical games he's kept throughout the decades, and how a recent move made him nostalgic."

I lost my drive for collecting physical games due to many discs lacking the whole complete game. Instead, of collecting games I started collected figurines.

Popsicle2d ago

I am a collector have a room dedicated with a couple original arcade cabinets, physical game library, old and new consoles and controllers backlit with LED lighting. It’s very cool to have but with emulation being so strong and prevalent, I sometimes feel foolish because the hobby is expensive and like another said, the full game is not always on the disc. Could probably spend more wisely but I enjoy it.

shinoff21831d 20h ago

Most games are usually on disc still. Of course you got you publishers that are hit and miss, Activision, ubisoft, ea, Microsoft, where the rest of the game needs downloaded.

The Xbox brand has done a lot of good over the years, but their various blunders are pretty wild to look back on in their magnitude.

Ironically number 9 can save them at this point (releasing games on multiple platforms)

ChasterMies3d ago

By “save them” you mean make more profit for Microsoft. Xbox will still be a dying hardware platform.

OtterX4d ago

You could add the naming scheme for the consoles, it just confuses customers. I know they wanted to avoid traditional numbering bc it would always be lower than their competitor, but this whole 360 then One then Series thing is confusing af. Imagine a Soccer Mom trying to figure this stuff out. I still mistakenly call the Series X the One from time to time on accident.

RNTody4d ago

Don't forget about the Xbox One, Xbox One X and Xbox Series X! Good luck to Soccer moms around the world.

S2Killinit3d ago (Edited 3d ago )

They did that on purpose to confuse and direct attention away from the generational numbering.

MS doesn’t like reminding people that they joined the industry after others had already been involved in gaming.

For instance, they called the xbox “360” to combat PlayStation “3” because they wanted to seem like “more” than “3”, so instead of xbox 2, they opted for xbox 360. Also this had the additional benefit of selling consoles to uninformed parents who might purchase a “360” instead of a “3” by mistake, or because they thought 360 was more than 3. Kind of a disingenuous move.

They have been continuing with their confusing naming patterns for pretty much the same reasons. Frankly, it fits with who and what they are as a brand.

FinalFantasyFanatic3d ago

I can understand their reasoning, but whoever came up with that naming scheme should be fired, bad naming schemes have killed consoles (I'm pretty sure it was the major reason for the downfall of the WiiU). They should have had unqiue names like Nintendo and Sega have had for their consoles, far less confusing for the consumer.

Cacabunga4d ago (Edited 4d ago )

Phil Spencer is the worst that has happened to Xbox.
They built a respectable brand up to Xbox one. Then this guy took over and things became a joke

Reaper22_3d ago

He still has his job. Something you can't say about Jim Ryan.

Cacabunga3d ago

Both bad execs. One is on job and one thankfully retired.

FinalFantasyFanatic3d ago (Edited 3d ago )

I didn't like either person, both people damaged their respective brands and produced worse outcomes, but Phil did save the Xbox brand from being retired by Microsoft. Although in hindsight, he should have just let it die, rather than languish in limbo like it is now.

Rainbowcookie2d ago

Yeah but the one that was "bad" didn't even affect sales.

bunt-custardly3d ago

Phil Spencer was also on the team back when 360 was around, alongside Shane Kim, Peter Moore etc. I think the damage that did the most harm was the Don Mattrick "Always Online" console (ahead of its time basically). They handed Sony and Nintendo a free-pass when that was revealed. It went downhill from there. Then the corporate machine went into full swing to try and recover. They have to a degree as a games company for the masses, and less so for the core gamer. Outside USA, the Xbox brand does not sell as well as Japanese based consoles (citation needed).

Cacabunga3d ago

Want a decision maker. The always online and TV plans was a disaster yes, but they caught up by announcing 1st party games that gamers actually kept the hype going.. until this moron took over and introduced the PC day one release.. e all know where that ended..

S2Killinit3d ago

I dont think they were ever a respectable brand, not since the beginning, when their goal was never to be involved and share in the gaming space. I think the OG xbox was an exception because MS as a brand was still getting its foot in and so the people behind that were people of the gaming industry.

FinalFantasyFanatic3d ago

The 360 was the brand in its prime though, everything went downhill towards the end of that generation. Its staple games like Halo, Forza and Gears are what kept the console relevant and afloat for so long.

MaximusPrime_3d ago

Really good video.

I remember the days with RRoD was big news on here, N4G.

Microsoft had it turbulence number of years.

Looking at the success of Sea of Thieves despite being 6 years old, time to release Halo, Forza horizon 4 & 5 on PS5. It'll help their revenue

shinoff21833d ago (Edited 3d ago )

2 of the 4 games they did already sold really well. So it's definitely going down. Idk about halo or forza but I feel those studios they've bought in the last 5 years, their coming

ChasterMies3d ago

I found this video painful to watch. Can someone list them out?

Top 10 for me from are:
1. 2013 reveal presentation
2. Bundling Kinect 2 with Xbox One
3. RRoD or why rushing to market with hardware is always a bad idea.
4. Buying studios only to close them.
5. Ads on the Home Screen
6. Letting Halo die.
7. Letting Geard of War die.
8. Every console name
9. Charging for Xbox Live on Xbox 360 when Sony let PS3 players play online for free.
10. Cancelling release of OG Xbox games after the Xbox 360 launched.
