Following the announcement that Illfonic has licensed Crytek’s CryENGINE 3 for their upcoming Xbox LIVE Arcade and PlayStation Network First-Person Shooter (FPS), Nexuiz, this morning, the developer has released a handful of brand new screenshots taken from the game. Showcasing the overhaul in graphical quality courtesy of the new engine, the new screenshots show of a variety of environments.
Nexuiz launched as a PC and console game 10 years ago, but the downfall of THQ lead to problems for the inspirational title.
Remember Nexuiz, the arena first-person shooter pulled from Steam three years ago after publisher THQ went bust? It's back.
Developer IllFonic has self-published the game on Steam, where it costs £7.99 (it's £3.99 until 22nd March).
Didn't get around to playing it until after the community died. Great to see it back.
The aftershock of THQ's dissolution continues, as servers for the Xbox 360 version of Nexuiz have been shut down. Developer Illfonic announced the news on its Facebook page, noting that the servers were being run by THQ and "cannot be maintained anymore." The PC servers, however, will remain online courtesy of Illfonic itself.
That's a shame, I loved this game but guess I won't be able to complete the achievements now.
Personally, I'd rather see them push the power of the PS3 with EVERY single game on PSN, but I know that's not going to happen, so multiplatform games like this are going to exist. The fact of the matter is, though, that no multiplatform game this gen is going to EVER top a PS3 exclusive. PS3 exclusives keep getting better graphically as time goes on(i.e., Killzone 3, Uncharted 2).
Not impressed......
I'm I the only one not being impressed by this engine? o.0
lol to all those screens, nothing what is ubergood looking!

if your gonna release screens, at least make then bigger than thumbnails.
i think this might be the first time ive drooled over the graphics for a downloadable title for psn and live game
