Helldivers 2 Is Struggling with 40k Syndrome

It's satire. Unfortunately, it's lost on some people. The Boys is satire but didn't face backlash until season 3 when a certain demographic suddenly realized they were one of the targets of the satire and then lost their minds.

Media literacy is needed. But it's easy with Starship Troopers the movie, it's menipean. But the book? It's juvenalian satire, like Fight Club.

The first time I watched starship troopers as a child I couldn't understand and probably hated the over the top bravado and the pearly white teeth but now much older I see the satire and think now it's a one of a kind film
I'll ask the last helldivers I sent down how they feel about all this but the last I heard was the last 5 never made it out of the crater they dropped into , I do admit sending them solo on extreme brought a hint of guilt but in my defence they got extra pudding before setting off
I would advise young adults to watch the movie the life of Brian it'll set you up for a great life

I have not heard anyone complain at all. But leave it to the blogs in the age of social media to find the needle in the haystack and inflate it a billion times for clicks.. which is really just for ad revenue.

The only thing HD2 is struggling with is it's own success and keeping up with the player base. They'll be fine =)

What a huge complement. To develop a game that is sooooooo good that you can't anticipate how huge it was going to be and it's sooooooo good you can't even keep up. Other devs will try and mimic it but there's always been something about being second, being you're always going to be last. If you're gonna mimic someone you might as well not even bother.

Halo Infinites clone they're now developing to compete with Helldivers, they're gonna have to pay for anyway, where it should be free, and even Phil Spencer is agitated, again, making a big fuss for Helldivers as he can't stand getting kicked in the shins again or he would have waited quietly and patiently for 343 Industries to develop what they originally had planned and then released that but, even he knows second to game may as well come in dead last

Prototype and Infamous is a bad example. Both came out just two weeks between one another. You're thinking of the hype rivalry at the time, which had nothing to do with mimicry just similarity in parkour transversal but everything else in terms of gameplay was quite different. The coinciding development for both was coincidental, Radical Entertainment had previous worked on The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction which was the basis for Prototype. To add on, both franchises have cult followings.
