I think you're right for the most part. Half of it is just a huge vent for the cooling system. Not that that is a bad thing necessarily, but I like the look of the PS5's hidden cooling vents better. I just hope both systems are quieter this gen.

It would be a pretty stylish monolith. I'd worship it like a God if I were an early hominid and saw a giant XSX. I wouldn't worship it as hard as I would a regular ass PS5, it's huge and probably more Lovecraftian.

Dude, sorry. Design? There isnt any. Microsoft went Safe. That is a mini PC box. There are already on the market. Search youtube. You can have right now the series X. If the logo wasnt there you wouldnt say that is a console. That simple. Desgn, means something new, cutting edge and not Copy paste from the PC world.

the author of the article seems like a little bit of an idiot if you ask me. Yes I think it looks good the design but where abouts does it "look stylish" in accordance to what pictures were posted? To me it looks like someone has taken an angular photo for effect of the console that's behind perspex lit up with neon.

I dont see how people can honestly say it looks stylish but then, beauty is in the eye of the beholder I guess. I dont think it matters too much anyway, it's more important that it works well, the aesthetics of a console are a completely secondary consideration for me personally.

Looks the exact same as when they revealed it, people are talking up the series X, they're trying to put faith in Microsoft and tell themselves it's okay but, that's part of the problem, Xbox fans want to coddle, PlayStation didn't get anywhere with that, their consumers had standards, expectations but, they're willing to take whatever they can get from Microsoft just to say they have something. They are either content with PlayStation and Microsoft is just extra, or they're afraid that if they have expectations from Microsoft, that it'll hurt things worse, that Microsoft is just so far behind, and they know that, they know it. At this rate, Xbox is dead. Xbox came in dead last to a severely inferior console best out by the PS2, Xbox 360 came in dead last to an inferior console with the Wii and sold as many consoles as it did due to Red Ring, and this generation they're set to come in dead last again as during the pandemic the Switch has been seeking like crazy, and they're coming up a new generation in the very same position as when Xbox One began. It's the fans fault too to not expecting and commanding more.
