This isn't related to the game at all. It's just general "update drivers" and very vague clues as to deal with BSOD's. Not game specific and not worth the time.

Volkama3127d ago (Edited 3127d ago )

Copy+paste for every PC game that gets released. Gamunation and another site always post this same nonsense, they have tried and tested none of it.

If you actually have a problem with the game you are better off checking Steam's forums than following dodgy websites like this.

AdrianSmith7773127d ago

These are just the pre-fixes which have obvious solutions. Once the Game gets released completely, we'd update our Fixes list!

Volkama3127d ago

yeah no disrespect, but your site isn't useful. All it really does is perpetuate the myth that PC gaming is not user friendly by making it look like every game has numerous severe crashing issues.

ThatEnglishDude3127d ago (Edited 3127d ago )

Fully agree. Now THIS is a PC guide:

And @bharathkumarsunny

"These are just the pre-fixes which have obvious solutions. Once the Game gets released completely, we'd update our Fixes list!"

Why not just wait til, ya know, you HAVE that list before posting your article? Just comes off as desperate for clicks. Your "guide" doesn't have fixes for errors, it's not related to the game itself and is just not worth putting on N4G. Not until you have something of substance and actual use to people having issues with Fallout 4.

I was wondering who keeps submitting these when they all look the same for every game, so the submitter is someone that works on that site, is there some n4g policy against this?

"Copy+paste for every PC game that gets released"

Not really a good thing, its why I always game on PC as a secondary if I can. Love it, but its faults are pretty bad. BSODs....smh.

Mind you, this varies from PC game to PC game, but the fact that its so common place is sad. We need to have a real decent standard for hardware on PC and the OS needs to be key for gaming only (looking at you Steam, Linux). Getting a game to run correctly on PC is legit a mandatory thing to game.

Googling your set up, researching what other people are doing and trial and error over and over again.

Love my PC, but I don't ever see me gaming exclusively on it for many, many titles. So many major things need to happen in the industry.

Volkama3126d ago (Edited 3126d ago )

Edmix, it has been literally several years since I've seen a blue screen of death. These articles would have you believe it is common with every game that comes out, but it simply isn't.
Vast majority of games too simply download, launch, play. The likes of Steam will install any redistributables you need, and keep your games patched and up to date. You can optimise settings if you want to, but even then most games have a passable stab at setting them according to your GPU that a casual gamer would probably be pleased with.

I'm not trying to pretend PC gaming is as easy or convenient as a console, but these kind of articles are a huge exaggeration of any problems.

This lame website copy and pasting again. Who approves this lameness? every game release it's the same Windows Vista era suggestions not even tailored to the game.

@bharathkumarsunny... Is this stupidity your doing?

Click the link below "read full story" and rate the site as "No" and "WTF" to prevent seeing it again

Done. Bubble for you. Thanks

Dirkster_Dude3126d ago

I believe all versions of the game have a day 1 patch of about 500mb that is supposed to fix most or all of these problems. Of course Bethesda isn't saying.

Nice work. I got an article which can help you to fix issues related to PC.

How nice of them to give us more control over graphical settings as a way to *completely* avoid taking accountability for the broken Xbox settings.

bondsmx18d ago

Well, I still crashed like 5 times last night within two hours. So there’s that.

anast17d ago

I had to stop. The game is not good. I'd rather play Skyrim and that game isn't that good either.

I Think It's About Time We Realize Fallout 4 Wasn't That Bad

Ahmed from eXputer: "2015's Fallout 4 received harsh criticism upon launching, but I think it was unwarranted and the game deserves more praise than it got."

helicoptergirl23d ago

It was totally that bad. I couldn't finish the campaign it was so bland and boring as I recall. Got so sick of it. 1000 stimpaks on hard. It is very rare that I play half a game and then just quit. I usually always finish it. But i was so bored with this game I just stopped and never went back and never regretted it. Just thinking about that game makes me shudder

Furesis23d ago

That's exactly what happened to me too lmao
Fallout 4 is not a fallout game period it's a bethesda game

Vits23d ago

The comparison with Skyrim is mind-boggling. Yes, Skyrim has streamlined many of the systems that Morrowind introduced. However, it did not tamper with the core of the Elder Scrolls franchise; it did not diminish the freedom and sense of exploration that made Bethesda RPGs famous. Fallout 4, on the other hand, did exactly that to the Fallout series. It eliminated what made Fallout such a beloved series to play. There are no consequences for your choices, no reason to explore, and barely any interesting set pieces in the game.

It's not terrible, but it's a painfully mediocre game in a franchise that typically doesn't produce such mediocrity. So that is why people see it as bad, the bar is just much higher.

anast23d ago

They both feel the same because they are, it's just that one has swords and magic and the other has swords and guns.

anast23d ago

I'm replaying it now. It sucks. I'm about 30 hours in and thinking about quitting again. I am so tired of the dialogue I just spam a random button because it doesn't matter. The upgrade just feels like a graphical mod, everything else is not good.

Good-Smurf23d ago (Edited 23d ago )

I couldn't play the game as-is it was insanely boring and grindy and the grind itself are not fun at all.
Mods helped me stomach the game a bit better but after a while I just stopped playing and uninstalled it because the game did nothing after the first few hours to give me any motivation to keep playing it, it just became a mindless looter shooter with obsession in settlement building and defending.
Compared to F3 and FNV, F4 was barely a mediocre game it wasn't bad but it's also very forgettable entry.

MrDead23d ago

It's not that bad after 300+ mods that fix it's issues and make the game fun... but lets not talk about mods right now as they are f****d.
