PlayStation Plus Monthly Games for May: EA Sports FC 24, Ghostrunner 2, Tunic, Destiny 2: Lightfall

i surprised to see Fifa 24 here for free for PlayStation plus am sure people are still buying the game with how big the Fifa games are.

Especially with the Euro cup coming up in june and it still selling as it was the 2nd best selling game for March in the UK. Big soccer competitions usually get me to play some FIFA(or FC now).

i do not have 24, I am still playing 23 I like the World Cup mode.
Ghostrunner 2 looks good, reminds me somehow of Mirror Edge.

Yeah I'm happy with those 2. I didnt play Tunic when I had gamepass so ill be glad to finally give it a go.
I'm also amazed they still find ways to give Destiny 2 away. But at least its an added game and not one of the main titles

Tunic was such an incredible experience, I'd instantly recommend it to anyone wanting a more old-school figure-it-out type of game.

The music alone is very peaceful and calming and balances well against the more strict combat

Four games including one of the best selling and most popular sports games and you get to keep them as long as you have a subscription to the basic tier. This is an extremely high value month

What does games with gold give this month? I'm sure if anything at all, it's just a bunch of stuff that has already been on game pass for years.

I have everything I want, but I am still overjoyed to see Tunic make the list. It's such a charming love letter to games of the past, and something anyone who enjoyed gaming in the '90s should absolutely check out. I mean, it even allows you to create an in-game manual that is reminiscent of those you'd read on the ride home.

Tunic and Ghostrunner 2 are good games. I couldn’t care less about sports games(I do like sports but the monetization of sports games turned me off of all of them a long time ago). I can’t play Destiny as I already play Helldivers2 with my friends and I don’t have the time to play 2 of those types of games.

Solid lineup I recently just got back into destiny 2 so that's a nice addition. I imagine a lot of people are going to moan about EA sports though. I remember when they tried to as PES to the months service about 5-6 year ago and they changed it to something else due to the amount of crying entitled users.

I tried Ghostrunner and liked it but I really need to practice more, because I was dying a lot. Which I do not mind because it is a trial and error type game . Good games for May.

FC 24, playing as a coach in career, when I simulated and watched games (in engine) I was shocked. The AI was terrible. 85+ players did AYSO-level mistakes during the game. Looked nothing like a really soccer or soccer from the Pro Evo Konami days.

You have to remember each time games are featured on subscription services a projected calculation has to be made that show its benefits the subscription service holder over the developer/publisher who allows their games on it.

That is why I wouldn't entertain any of these services. If you are a developer/publisher sell your own games, in the end you are only eroding your own power and making the market place less fair and competitive by chasing these short term bungs of cash.

Plus is too expensive so I let it expire months ago, now I’m waiting for a “good” month to pull me back in. Not holding my breath and not sure why as I’m a single player type gamer. These games aren’t tempting me and for the price I’d rather just buy the games than pay for Plus access. FC was under $20 and if you wait for sales you can buy all those games for less than the monthly rate of Plus.

I even bypassed the dreaded Cloud save feature with a thumb drive to transfer for an old save for Fallout from my ps4 pro to the PS5. It was easy, don’t even have to make folders on drives anymore for the system to see it.

I bought Dave the Diver so I don’t have to pay for Plus to play it in the future and I feel good supporting the devs directly.

The longer I go without plus the less it seems like I need it and these glorified rental services are a cancer to the industry IMO. I buy so I own.
