The Cold War was a very strange time for the world. The remnants of WW2 led to a very isolationist closed off Soviet Union that gave birth to many rumours and myths about the vast unknown state. Author: Caleb Moran for Game Hype UK.
Radioactive retrospective. TSA look back on the original trilogy of STALKER games, with the Legends of the Zone console release.
Today, during the latest Xbox Partner Preview broadcast – as a surprise for Xbox gamers everywhere – GSC Game World launched the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Legends of the Zone Trilogy for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S (via backwards compatibility). That’s right – it’s available today!
Was not expecting this to drop today, after the leaks.
Kinda curious ... regarding the performance and all ... had to tweak a lot when tried the first two on PC.
Kind of a bummer it doesn't include the advanced graphical features like volumetric fog/smoke simulation, volumetric godrays, and paralax maps. I remember buying a gaming PC back in the day just to max out this and Crysis. Would've been a nice lil detail
Japanese retailers have leaked the existence of STALKER: Legends of the Zone Trilogy, a collection that will bring the franchise to consoles.
So if its a bug free release for consoles ... will it release on PC as well as a bug-free PC re-release without depending on mods?
These games are goat. Bethesda's Fallout only wishes it felt half as creepy, with a great sense of desolation and exploration as these games. The first and third games are some of the best gaming experiences out there for this type of "open world" survival, apocalyptic, exploration pew pew you're dead type of game.
Still, I do hope that they put some loving care into these releases. The originals were kinda rough a lot of times and even if you go back and play them Vanilla you should always look for fan patches and mods that clean up some of the mess. We'll see.
But don't get confused here. While you might call them STALKER Shadow of Jank you could at least still finish the games in their original state. Again, this ain't Bethesda and their broken ass Vanilla Skyrim shenanigans. So at least there's that.
And please, let this not be Aspyr...They suck. Their releases of Jedi Outcast and Academy on the PS4 were some of the worst shooting experiences that generation had to offer and then some. Trying to hit ANYTHING!!! was a crap shoot. It almost felt like I was playing Morrowind and there was a Dice Roll in the back end. That's how random it felt to hit anything on consoles.
If this release is true, then I'm hoping for a solid experience at the very least.
