I'm having a hard time following you. PS probably paid these guys for sure timed exclusivity based on the article. For other games MS might pay them for the same and/or inclusion on GamePass. What's your point?

The story is Xbox gamepass - people play and buy more games by Phill.

Then on Activision Blizzard case, MS says: Gamepass is cannibalising game sales and people spend less money.
We are a small company and can't compete with giants.

Then a random indie developer comes and says Gamepass is the best thing that happened to them, financially of course.

Than you have this.
A problem to even announce the platform.

Wait how do you assume Playstation paid for any exclusivity here? It's on the Switch and Steam as well. So seems like it would be odd to pay to exclude Xbox here.

@chev, the article made that assertion. Console timed exclusives are common, so PC doesn't really count. I don't know about the switch thing. Technically exclusivity contacts can have anything in there that lawyers can dream up

My point was its releasing on the Switch and PC on the same date so assuming it's a Playstation deal makes no sense. Nintendo makes timed exclusive deals too. Just look at the recent direct where more than once its mentioned 'First to Nintendo Switch "
