This game is launching this holiday and we haven’t see a single ounce of gameplay. Hopefully soon.

LOGICWINS790d ago

Similar to Halo:Infinite MP, I think Microsoft plans to release the first few hours of Starfield at the end of their June show.

Jin_Sakai789d ago

Are they still having a show now the E3 is cancelled?

LOGICWINS789d ago

Just speculation on my end, but I see no reason why they wouldn't have a show sometime this summer. I wonder what MS is giving Geoff to reveal at Summer Games Fest.

Fishy Fingers789d ago (Edited 789d ago )

They said in Novemeber the gameplay reveal will be summer 2022.

This is just a few more shots from the 2018 build.

Obscure_Observer789d ago

"This game is launching this holiday and we haven’t see a single ounce of gameplay."

Not surprising at all for Bethesda fans. That´s just Bethesda MO. Look no further than Fallout 4 which official gameplay was revealed less than 5 months before launch.

https://www.youtube.com/wat...

I like the way MS is now holding on reveal gameplay of their games too soon, after Halo Infinite´s first gameplay fiasco.

BrainSyphoned789d ago

Forget Fallout 4 not being shown. I'm looking with 16 times the detail at Fallout 76 not being shown.

moriarty1889789d ago

They said they were going to show gameplay in summer of 22…….I wonder if that is still going to happen and if they have an actual show of their own to replace E3 which has been officially cancelled.

anubusgold789d ago

Bethesda has always done this when the game is 6 months away they do a reveal .

Palitera789d ago

Do you really believe the fake release date is the real one?

Profchaos789d ago (Edited 789d ago )

In all fairness Bethesda managed to keep fallout 4 under wraps. It's first anything was at its announcement a few months prior to its launch which it managed to hit without a delay.

I actually thought this would become standard for Bethesda a game announcement at E3 with a release date of that year it was quite a pleasant surprise.

MADGameR789d ago

Not to sound like a negative Nancy, but it WILL be delayed guarenteed. 6 months away and still nothing relevant.

Sayai jin789d ago

Bethesda has been known for not showing game play for their new games until around that dates E3 usual dates. So hopefully soon.

Why can’t you just show gameplay?

rakentaja789d ago

You should already know that Bethesda always shows the game 5-6 months before the release...not before.

anubusgold789d ago

Yep thats how they always do it.

brewin789d ago

Yeah I really like the way they handle it actually. There's not all this digesting drip feed bits of info for years. They release a couple of bits to build the hype and then blow the cover off 5 to 6 months before the game actually comes out. This is the way.

I am definitely looking forward to this one, one of my most anticipated games this year for sure, especially with Zelda out of the picture.

Obscure_Observer789d ago

"Why can’t you just show gameplay?"

Because they said back in november 2021 that gameplay will be revealed in summer 2022.

Why can´t you just wait?

CrimsonWing69789d ago (Edited 789d ago )

I know right!? How dare I ask to see some gameplay from a game announced in 2018? The nerve!

BrainSyphoned789d ago

I can just wait since I don't have to pay anything to play it. Just wondering if I need to schedule time off to play it or time off to burn everything I have Bethesda related.

S2Killinit789d ago

@BrainSyphoned
You DO know your credit card is being charged right? 😂

TimmyTesticles789d ago

Only reason would be that it's complete and total burning trash.

They'll just delay it for a decade or so. You don't release a game incapable of showing gameplay.

Bathyj789d ago

It's an information blowout.

CaptainHenry916789d ago

Might end up being the most overhyped game this generation

lelo2play789d ago

Cyberpunk takes the crown for that...

KeyAppearance789d ago (Edited 789d ago )

yep agree, don't think anything
will come close to that anytime soon, everyone I knew was trying to upgrade their PC years ago just to play that game.

FlavorLav01789d ago

For now…we’re still relatively early into this gen. Surely there will be other big flops.

badz149788d ago

Cyberpunk was last gen though...

anubusgold789d ago

No one is going to take that away from cyber punk

Magog789d ago

You call it an early build but from what I've seen of Fallout 76 these might be representative of the final product.

MadLad789d ago (Edited 789d ago )

Bethesda puts out a game of the year/RPG of the year contender every time they release a title. Sells millions and millions of copies even years after release.

But Fallout 76 sucked, at least at launch, so obviously this will just be the same quality as the one odd man out.

At least I know that's what some people want now they they are only showing up on one console.

Magog789d ago

Fallout 4 was also hot garbage. Skyrim was decent but not as engrossing as Oblivion. They were a company on decline. Same as Activision. I'm seeing a pattern here.

HardKnockKid24789d ago

@Magog, you’re definitely lying to yourself or to everyone else about that. It’s funny how many “Bethesda has always been trash” comments are posted these days. Wonder if it has anything to do with MS owning them now. I’m seeing a pattern here.

SurgicalMenace788d ago

Skyrim was truly their only great success, being that they've been giving it the old GTA treatment since 2011. I personally enjoyed Morrowind over anything after it. Oblivion was popular since it was released on 360 during its initial run, while Skyrim showed how aged the engine was with stale combat, ugly graphics, and limited animations. Fallout 3 has been the only game I've been willing to play until completion and I've given Skyrim a try on everything besides the Switch to win me over, to no avail.

That said, it doesn't bode well that the most successful outing that Bethesda's had was released in 2011. I'm actually hoping Starfield can produce something worth paying for on my SX. At this point I've got absolutely no reason to justify owning one. I can't play features nor is GP remotely appealing.

SurgicalMenace788d ago

What does that show? Why is early footage even remotely acceptable after 4 years of development. I guess one can arrive at the notion that they're teasing players, but early renders do little to satisfy expectations. MS needs to start creating excitement over hype, I really don't want another console to a waste of money.

Aloymetal789d ago

They're called Bugthesda for a reason.

John_McClane789d ago

You should really charge Xbox something, instead of letting them live in your mind rent free.

Aloymetal789d ago

@John
I have lord Phil aka "The Messiah" on speed dial.

brewin789d ago

76 was an experiment to put a multiplayer spin on Fallout. I never cared for MMO type of games so I didn't buy into that one at all from the start. This is nothing like that this is a straight up single player RPG. That right there is Bethesda's bread and butter and they've been putting a ton of money time and effort into this game. It's been a development for a long time too, where is they made 76 in what like a year and a half 2 years after Fallout 4?! Don't be dramatic.

Starfield's recent player spike is good, but it needs its Cyberpunk 2077 moment now

Starfield's recent player spike is a good sign, but Bethesda desperately need to line up their Cyberpunk 2077 moment.

I feel like the second big update that releases late this year will do just that. Part of the story expansion is also new means of transportation on planets.

P_Bomb7d ago

A good DLC could turn some heads. The Destiny games got momentum that way too.

piher7d ago

What player spike?

I checked steamcharts through the link in the article and it went from 8,000 to 11.500, so yea 20% but when the game peaked at 330,000 It's safe to say that the actual effect of this update was negligible.

LostPotato7d ago

Doubt it'll ever get redemption. As many developers have said in various interviews it's beyond saving.

Just release the mod tools and expansion and move on.

Profchaos6d ago

Cyberpunk 2077 had some strong bones i disliked it on launch because I could see the potential I could see the strengths of what they wanted to achieve but it wasn't done yet

They didn't get the memo the game is dead and the Bethesdabots only want magic and fantasy.

Boy_the_CowRoy6d ago

Starfield fans? The game only has 9 thousand current players, worldwide! As a company you cannot waste time on creating "Major features", it is simply not profitable. Just move on.
