Halo Infinite’s multiplayer mode released three weeks early when it dropped this Monday on the 20th anniversary of the original Xbox and first Halo game.
Electronic Arts CEO Andrew Wilson stated in a recent EA Earnings Call, that the next Battlefield "it is going to be another tremendous live service.”
Another? ANOTHER?
Is he honestly trying to make out like the last Battlefield was a huge success, not just as a game but as a live service game? I'm sure these guys live in their own echo chambers, they are so far removed from reality or they just like talking out of their arse trying to rewrite history.
Also why say such a tone deaf statement when you know the state of live service games at the minute and how many gamers feel about them. Bigging up the next BF game as live service does not give me any excitement or hype.
EA:
While we’ve enjoyed and are proud of creating these seasons of additional content for Battlefield 2042, it is now necessary for us to turn from the present to the future. What this ultimately means is that Season 7 will serve as the final season for Battlefield 2042. After Season 7 concludes, we will continue to support the game with new in-game challenges, events, modes, and of course, ongoing maintenance, but we are moving away from delivering official seasons.
Streamer Shroud says that DICE paid 60 to a hundred content creators to help develop Battlefield 2042, but ignored every single advice.
No wonder the game ended up the way it did
What they should've done was ask BF fans. Most general content creators typically go for the trend and the top creators stream games like LOL, fortnite, dota, gtaV, battle royale etc.
I’ll give some advice and take money for it. You can use it or not use it just make sure to pay me
Battlefield fans just want Battlefield to be Battlefield. Which means a focus on Conquest-mode (5/6 flags), some gorgeous and fun maps to play on, 4 balanced classes, and that's it.
The suits keep wanting to turn Battlefield into everything else BUT Battlefield, so first they wanted BF to be more like Call of Duty, so they copied a bunch of stuff from CoD. Then they wanted to take advantage of the Battle Royale stuff, so they went after that crowd. Then they saw the heroes stuff in Overwatch and so they brought in specialists. Etc.
Guys, we just want Battlefield. Not every games has to be everything to all people. Specialize in what makes (made) your series great, which is large(r) maps (appropriate size for the amount of players, which IMO should be 24-32 max, so not just big for bragging brights), integrating vehicle-combat, and just allowing the freedom and flow which made those matches in older Battlefield games so special at times.
It's no secret MS is trying to be on top of the shooter world. With making slight digs and references to BF. In fact it probably explains why they dont have BF on gamepass day one. They want Halo to have the spotlight. Obviously since it's their game.
Own both games, while Halo's battle pass/playlist system needs overhauled, its miles better than 2042. Halo released without a slew of bugs and server issues where as BF2042 is a steaming hot mess. Portal is the only thing saving that game from falling into the depths of the bargain bin with the likes of CoD Vangaurd. Good to see Halo back on top, here's to hoping they fix the mess of a battle pass
Hazard Zone has a ton of potential, and it pains me to think that the mode might not be supported if this game dies before the patches are finished in a year.
And where the Hell is the Dualsense support? Between that and the lack of ANY voice comms, this game feels like the most desperate attempt to barely launch a game in time for the holiday season.
This game could have been great if they waited a year to release it, and just scrapped the last gen versions (is anybody buying them anyways?!?).
Why would they obtain marketing rights only to launch halo infinite early days before the official bf2042 launch.
Return of the King 👑!!
