The community: get rid of the specialists!
DICE: ayy fam here's 5 more

JEECE950d ago

Ugh so frustrating. Just reinstituting the class system would do so much to improve this game.

LordoftheCritics950d ago

Wow that was some laggy gameplay.

jeromeface949d ago

for battlefield yes, for ea no... therein lies the problem.

REDGUM949d ago

So long as it doesn't change the fairness of the game at all I don't mind. Once you have to start paying to win though I'm out.
Let's see how it plays out 1st.

Drakul950d ago

Gj Dice you just made a Rainbow Six clone and ruined BF one more time. Definitely canceling pre-order.

CDbiggen950d ago

I don't get why every shooter now needs these "specialists".

gamer9950d ago (Edited 950d ago )

Because skins = $$$, blame anyone you know who has purchased and obnoxious outfit for their character. If nobody bought them, they'd be gone.

-Foxtrot950d ago

I don’t get why we just can’t all start out with the same crappy guns and scavenge the map to find better ones, let new different weapons randomly spawn in a number of locations

Least then it’s fair and more about skill

monkey602950d ago

You must be joking! There's enough camping on vehicle spawns stopping general players from getting in them. Don't need that for weapons too

-Foxtrot950d ago (Edited 950d ago )

@monkey602

Sorry you must have totally missed the "RANDOMLY SPAWN in a number of locations" part of my comment

Always different, always changing, you cant predict it and if you cant predict it then you cant camp

Do people even read peoples full comments on here anymore or just the first few words

zumlauf14950d ago (Edited 950d ago )

because that's not Battlefield and it never was. Maybe have basic knowledge on how a game has been traditionally before chiming in? Also, none of that has anything to do with specialists.

They tried to pull this stunt in Gears 5, by assigning specific abilities, traits, etc to each character in horde mode. Literally nobody liked it, they ended up changing it back some seasons later to how it was in Gears 4. Their reasoning for it was because they wanted players to attach better to specific characters, and make them stand out more, because as some have said, you are more likely to buy skins if you main a character. But they forget people will do that already without forcing it on them.

frostypants950d ago

Because a lot of games like this are designed largely based on the opinions of corporate management drones who have zero imagination and just copy what the analytics say successful games have.

DICE never seems to learn. Over and over and over and over…

Battlefield? More like BAD-lefield. Amirite?

frostypants950d ago

The series used to be great. They are actively unlearning.

PhillyDillyDee949d ago

It definitely seems that way.

annoyedgamer950d ago

We are witnessing the death of Battlefield right here.

PS-Gamer-1986950d ago

Sad. Used to be one of the best franchises in videogame.

Does anyone care at this point? Fingers crossed the next bf is golden, don’t think the franchise could take another epic misfire. Good on them for continuing support for 2143, just too little too late

Another? ANOTHER?

Is he honestly trying to make out like the last Battlefield was a huge success, not just as a game but as a live service game? I'm sure these guys live in their own echo chambers, they are so far removed from reality or they just like talking out of their arse trying to rewrite history.

Also why say such a tone deaf statement when you know the state of live service games at the minute and how many gamers feel about them. Bigging up the next BF game as live service does not give me any excitement or hype.

LordoftheCritics21d ago

''is building ‘another tremendous LIE service’''

/Fixed

just_looken20d ago

This is nothing too new
https://www.eurogamer.net/e...

They had plans of a universe of live service games

Also these studios made 2042 there is no new massive team its the same team
https://www.eurogamer.net/t...

Well same team minus the seattle boys that were canned
https://gamerant.com/ea-bat...

This is all again same news different year but it seems very few remember what happened before covid.

Walalon19d ago

At least they put car freshner trees up their asses to think smelling their own farts smells good at this point to be so out of touch.

RaidenBlack21d ago

Just make another Battlefield 2 ... or BadCompany 3 ... EA

XiNatsuDragnel21d ago

Bad company 3 instead of live service bs
