More PS5 Photos Emerge from Japanese Previews

Robert Ramsey of PushSquare writes, "Popular Japanese YouTube channel 赤髪のとものゲーム実況チャンネル!! is set to go live with a PS5 preview this weekend, but for now, the video's thumbnail is interesting enough. This is actually the first time that we've seen a real PlayStation 5 console outside of press shots from Sony (and rather low quality leaked factory images)."

Come to think of it, MS invited Digital foundry and other folks wayy back in March for a full teardown and hand-on of the Series X and even secretly showed off the Series S.

There's a certain bunch of people that really want the PS5 to crash and burn, but I'm afraid they're in for a hard time on that front. Hitting disagree won't make the PS5 flop, people!

Sad to say this.. but none of the japanese youtubers' livestreams revealed anything new about the ps5. No stream showed the ps5 ui, heck none of the youtubers were allowed to carry/hold the console. It's just the youtubers playing astro's playroom, godfall, dmc5 and 1 other game i can't remember the name... Nothing we've not seen before. Sony's PR team is really dropping the ball.

Indefensible - I'm super pissed at the moment, it was a pathetic showing.

I remember at the start of the year Jim saying there will hundreds of showcase event to show off the PS5. I understand the world is a little different now, just over 5 weeks out and no UI, no tear down, no hands on with the console.

Disappointing on all levels.

You dont recall Jim Ryan saying that after the news Sony wouldn't be at E3? Pretty sure it was before all the Covid drama.

In Japan they have a very different definition of "game review". Basically the company (Sony & Nintendo) dictate what you can or cannot write. The youtubers can only say what Sony allow them to say.
