Future PS3 firmware updates we need PART III

We are back again with part III of the needed firmware updates. We have a interesting list of updates that we want your opinions about. So lets take it away.

-Being able to record you game play is a must. We need some software that is a simple click of the button. I'm not talking about uploading to Youtube. That is good but take it one step further. We should be able to record it then transfer to PC for editing. It would make life much more simple, than going the long route and recording via DVD player. This could also give you the option to use the PS eye edit software

I never really understood the desire to record one's gameplay....
why? I dunno any new feature at this point is a welcomed feature. I'm happy as is for the time being.

A record feature is actually useful in many games, sadly games that need it don't have it! Who at Midway decided Stranglehold should not include some sort of video save feature?

Multiple selection. Deleting selected folders/files instead of one by one.

Just hit triangle on one of the files and you'll be given the option to delete/copy multiple files. Easy.

if I have to nitpick

switch profiles without quiting the whole thing

in game xmb to move smother and has a sound like ps3 main menu

rebuild the xmb navigation system like the ps store to make it more refreshing

integeration of home into xmb. you always loadup your ps3 into your own apartment. you have all the xmb options in your room. options, launch game, store etc.

It has been a while, I think that we are due for a new firmware update anyways. Sony usually keeps doing every couple of months or so. Sometimes sooner.

I just want a flash update for the web browser, and in game xmb for ps2/ps1 games. The end.

in any order
1. cross game voice chat as default (talk to friends in any game)
2. record any game and save to hard drive then upload to youtube latter
3. send voice/video recordings in messages via PS eye
4. your own advatars
5. a proba invite system for online games! (the developers ones are not always reliable)

Cross game chat is about all I want, sorta. Not even sure I would use that a lot. Oh, and a flash player update.

I love the PSN, and I bought a 13 month Liv e membership for my 360. Honestly, as someone who doesn't generally rent movies (Live would have to be better than the PSN for that at the moment) I must say that the only thing I can tell I paid for was cross-game chat. I haven't really had bad lag on either system. I would have to say that the PSN is catching up at this point faster than Live is evolving, so it's logical to think that they will be on nearly the same level in the not too distant future. Perhaps the difference maker in the online gaming world will be the avatar system vs. Home. BTW, I'm not complaining about paying $50 for Live, I am just commenting on one that costs versus one that is free.

I'd like to be able to update my media server when I add something new to the playlist rather than going through the whole "searching for new media servers" process every time.

XMB access from DVDs and Blu-Rays would be nice too.

Of course none of that is exactly system breaking.

i can send pictures but it would be nice to send more

also the "record gameplay" one is dreaming, NO console has that in it atm

would be absolutely wonderful. I cannot possibly describe in words how annoying it is to try and record gameplay with a web camera. Constantly having to adjust brightness settings on both the web camera and the TV, then having to try and edit the saved video in Windows Movie Maker (which constantly locks up on me for no reason.) so it'll be small enough to upload to youtube. The last thing I recorded was about 30 minutes, and it was about 2 or 3 gigabytes in file size. I've got plenty of other 30 minute videos on my crappy PC and they're all around 100 megabytes.
