What is the use for Trophy Levels?

This is a question that has fluttered around the web a few times. What is the real use for the trophy level system?

We believe that this will play a large part in Home. If you think about it Trophies was first revealed as a Home addition. Remember them 3D trophies, the ones you could show of in your own trophy room? This brings me to think that the level up system would be linked with Home also. I believe Sony always planned to release 2D trophies from the beginning and not just as to side track us from the real goods.

I just hope ALL devs in the future implement trophies, because it adds to replayability. If there was an FPS with trophies, and one without, i certainly know which one i would get. Devs just need to realise how appealing trophies are to some gamers, like me, a self admitted trophy whore.

I really want them to patch GTAIV with trophies.. I love trophies, they seem to be much more tangiable than achievement points :P atm the only games I have are Uncharted and the soon to be patch Warhawk.

Wait, wasn't there a Ratchet and Clank outfit for Home Characters at last year E3? So for me, it if you get a certain percentage of trophies for a certain game, you will get an unlockable in HOME. Also you will get something special for your character or HOME space if you get all the trophies for that game.

It would also get you into all the betas because your high level would prove your a hardcore gamer.

Eric Lempel mentioned in an issue of PtOM (it was sometime this Summer) that they have plans for high-level PSN rewards. No specifics, but it's nice to know that people who level up will be rewarded for it.

it's like a "gamerscore" i pressume
bragging rights. instead of saying i have this many points (20,000/30,000) you say i'm a level 47

The thing i dont like about the gamerscore is that you can BUY points.
That kinda defeats the purpose of earning them..atleast if you see someone with alot of trophies you know they earned them.

Anyways I'd like furniture as a reward(if we get one) than just a shirt or pants but if were able to get a full Gears of war suit (just an example) or helgast suit that'd be awesome

Wouldn't it be cool if they added gamertags to your PSN ID depending on what level you were. Say somebody is level 1, they would have a tag next to their name that said n00b. Somebody level 15 could have a tag that said veteran or something like that.

I'm waiting for PAIN and Bionic Commando to get patched. Those will by my first games with trophy support. I was going to buy SSHD but I got discouraged after buying PJ: Monsters and it was half price the next week. I don't even like that game all that much.

I would like to see special rooms in games if or when you get a platinum trophy, (unlock platinum trophy in gta4 have access to the strip club using your home avatar)

Unlock Platinum trophy in MGS4 and receive zooming eye patch for home avatar

It would be nice if the only way you could get a bigger/better apartment/home was through level up system.

the trophy and level system is a great start to what could be absolutely large amount of kick a$$.

your domicile could be leveled up when you level up. for instance, a level one would have a 1 room efficiency while a level 100 would have a mansion.

I hope they implement rewards in home for people that have more trophies. This would be awesome seeing as I just beat Uncharted on "crushing" (unlocked after you beat it on hard) and got a platinum trophy (100% completion).

You should get platinum chains that your avatar can wear for platinum trophies.

By the way, Home should also implement a level system. It would promote usage of Home and make it more competitive and MMO-like.
