Pokemon GO suffers community collapse as Niantic Labs remains ignorant

Niantic Labs is screwing over the Pokemon Go community and a a lot of users aren't happy about it.

Niantic is under no obligation to respond every complaint or negative news article. If they see a big negative impact from the updates I'm sure they will reconsider and reverse some decisions.

Pokemon Go itself wasn't a fad, and the reason why people leave isn't because they are over it. People leave because the developer seems to be really terrible at actually being a good developer. They are starting to make really dumb mistakes.

When you have one of the one things in the game to do (hunt pokemon) being broken (distance tracker is broken) and then they remove it completely "till it's fixed", you're gonna have some people stop playing. And they're basically saying the only apps that can help you find pokemon with it being buggy will be getting axed...

If they can fix their distance crap and finally deliver trading (and hopefully battles in the future that don't require a pokegym).

This was my only concern about the game.Its extremely unusual for a Nintendo game to have any major bugs at all, But Nintendo had no involvement with the game. Its really just the same as 80% of developers nowadays.

The removed tracking which was like 80% of the game. It isn't fun to wonder around aimlessly. They reduced the scan radius, there is an egg glitch now, and pokemon are harder to catch. Not to mention I get the same two pokemon all of the time....those two...

anyway, the game just isn't fun anymore without the tracking. I was hoping they would have fixed it rather than remove it....or removing any of the third party trackers too.

I guess they want us to walk around in a square, just like the NPCs do in Pokemon.

As others have said, the developer is the one killing the game off by making stupid mistakes. The game itself is a great idea that COULD last a long time, if they did it correctly, which they aren't.

I drove by a place that's a pokestop/gym and was floored by the amount of people around. 40-50 people standing in front of an art gallery where I'm from is pretty crazy. It was only two days ago, so I think any claim of the end for Pokemon Go is kind of an over statement.

Also you should at least try it, it's sure as hell not for me but I went for an hour long walk just to check it out.

There will be enough players playing Pokemon Go for sure. Even if they loose a couple of thousands of players, there will always be enough players to make profit. They mainly will loose the support of players who haven't played any Pokemon in the first place.

If I see Pokemon Go players out there, I mostly see people sitting near several lure modules for hours. I barely see many people actually going around to find Pokemon.

£3? The game is free-to-play, although after around imo level 15 it starts to become pay-2-win as the XP for each level increment onwards starts to go up and the grind increases.

-The tracker was broken ages ago.
The removal of the tracker system didn't make a bit of a difference as it was broken a week after release. So the complainers need to stfu and stop pretending to be pissed about something that didn't even work in the first place.

-People using Pokevision as an alternative to the broken tracker system.
The notion of using Pokevision because of broken tracker contradicts everything people are complaining about.People are now complaining they removed the tracker system and the same people are defending Pokevision because the tracker was broken....it makes no sense.

-Pokevision defenders.
Pokevision was a concept that broke the entire point of Pokemon go. It gave us the exact location of Pokemons in any area. Everyone used it to locate the rarest Pokemon they don't have and, headed to that location to catch it....it took no effort what so ever and made the game piss easy. If Pokevision stayed here for 2 weeks, then all of the core Pokemon go players would have their Pokedex filled by now and most Pokemon go players would have at least a half.

Now instead of focusing our energy of the negative stuff then try and see what can be done to make the experience better.

-A radial radar and compass instead of the grid & step system.
We can all agree that the step system was horrible and confused rather than help. One way to easily help people find Pokemon in the vicinity is a radial radar and a compass for their direction. It works pretty much the same way but the idea is to cause less confusion and guide us to the right direction.
The radar will have 3 colours: green for 10m, yellow for 50m and red for 100m. The Pokemon will be highlighted on the radar. The grid is good at one thing and that's just telling us what Pokemon are nearby. We could keep that and to track we select the Pokemon the grid and a compass with will gear us in the right direction. To make it less easy the compass could be triggered every minute instead of a constant direction.

I don't see the big issue. The footprints haven't worked for a while now and I've still enjoyed it. They didn't work before and now they've removed it, to me there's no difference. I would like for them to apply it again once they've worked out the bugs and they most likely will. Until then I'll continue to play like I always have. I could understand this uproar if it was a much larger issue like increasing requirements of evolution or removing Pokemon, maybe I just haven't noticed the huge downgrade that some are seeing.
