Pokemon GO Now Available For The United States; Canada Coming Soon

Pokemon GO is now available in the United States. There is still no word on when the game will be released in Canada.

I walked around for about 30 minutes and met 6 other people doing the same thing.

Edit: Servers seem to be getting crushed though...I caught 2 pokemons that didn't register.

I'm listening to Giantbombcast and one of the guys was on the beta and he said it's just like that other Niantic game where you walk around and reinforce locations except this is with pokemon colors and it's not really anything like the pokemon games you know. He was disappointed.

It's kind of cool, but this version is destroying my battery and leaving it running during the day makes no sense. So...I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do with it if I install it again.

There is a battery saver option in the settings although I can't confirm how good it is.

they are aware of the battery drain and are in the process of fixing it. you can shut of the AR which will help but does take alot away from the game
