It would seem strange that the company responsible for handling Bethesda's official store would not have a good idea of when the games are releasing...

I'm thinking Treehouse might have slipped up. Can you imagine the reaction if it is in fact revealed to launch this fall or something.. Wow

curtis923287d ago

I'm willing to bet it is releasing this fall. They don't announce games way in advance. I'm pretty sure Fallout 3 was announced in june 2008 and released Oct 28, 2008.

Lubu3287d ago

Skyrim was announced over a year before release, I believe.

lilmetal3287d ago (Edited 3287d ago )

I think the trend is that they release the same year as their E3 reveals.
Fallout 3 and Skyrim were announced a year prior to their E3 appearances.

Hold_It3287d ago

By they do you mean Bethesda? Or by they do you mean @E3, because the majority of the games at E3 do not come out the same year they are announced.

assdan3286d ago

Skyrim was announced 11 months before release, oblivion was announced 2 years before release, the first trailer for fallout 3 showed up a year and a half before release. Not really sure where you're getting your ideas from, but it's not reality.

WellyUK3286d ago

The difference here is that this was a gameplay trailer rather than a teaser trailer which they tended to do before the gameplay trailer. I reckon it could release this year or the start of next year.

We will wait and see.

YodaCracker3286d ago

Fallout 3 was actually announced in 2004, four years before its release:

http://fallout.wikia.com/wi...

The first trailer was released over a year before the game's release.

_-EDMIX-_3286d ago

Yes and no. Fallout 3 was announced in 2007, released in 2008.

It was demoed at E3 2008, then released fall 2008.

So in your defense I guess...they marketed GAMEPLAY 6 months prior to release. If that makes any sense lol. But Fallout 3 was very much announced before 2008.

But I agree with the rest in that it was shown at E3 in terms of demoed the same year it released. This VERY MUCH could be true about this title too.

Consider its playable, consider its ready to be demoed in DAYS! That is enough to sorta mean, its in the same phase as Fallout 3 was PRIOR to its release.

Thus...one can really make the arguement Fallout 4 could very much be releasing this year.

Though we don't know how far along Fallout 4 is compared to Fallout 3 in the same development time frame....we know its enough to show a trailer for and not a teaser...we know its enough to be PLAYABLE at E3....

Was Fallout 3 not shown as a trailer then PLAYABLE at E3 the year of its release?

Well...sounds to me like that is ready. Maybe its the fallout fan in me that wants it to be this year, but I feel many are making GREAT arguments for it being fall this year....FALL OUT YEAR!

Companies, particularly game companies, compartmentalize all the time, especially when it comes to their relationships with another company (which Treehouse is). It wouldn't surprise me at all if Treehouse is as in the dark as we are.

Companies are run by people & people tend to be entirely ignorant of what the hell their sister companies may be doing, heck most the time they don't know what they're doing themselves, they just hope they get by.

showtimefolks3286d ago

I think it's a safe bet to assume it's coming out in fall 2015. Bethesda aren't known for announcing games goo far from release

Fallout 4 has been in development for 4 years. So it wouldn't he shocking if it's indeed coming in 2015

I want to play it As soon as possible

I hope the release is 2016 March because theres already a very crowded year all around! But if they end releasing this year i guess it could be good because competition for sales will lower the price of games faster! And since i stop pre ordering this will mean picking games i want cheaper a month or two after they release, good for my wallet , not so good for publishers but who cares right!

RJ920093286d ago

And make 2016 even more Cray? Lol I want it this year!! 2015 Rpg year!!

BluFish3286d ago

If the year is so crowded, you can just play all those other games and buy FO4 when it invariably goes on sale.

A 2015 release would be amazing.

I hate it when I jump on the gun

ZaWarudo3287d ago

I'm thinking November 2015 or early 2016.

How nice of them to give us more control over graphical settings as a way to *completely* avoid taking accountability for the broken Xbox settings.

bondsmx19d ago

Well, I still crashed like 5 times last night within two hours. So there’s that.

anast18d ago

I had to stop. The game is not good. I'd rather play Skyrim and that game isn't that good either.

I Think It's About Time We Realize Fallout 4 Wasn't That Bad

Ahmed from eXputer: "2015's Fallout 4 received harsh criticism upon launching, but I think it was unwarranted and the game deserves more praise than it got."

helicoptergirl25d ago

It was totally that bad. I couldn't finish the campaign it was so bland and boring as I recall. Got so sick of it. 1000 stimpaks on hard. It is very rare that I play half a game and then just quit. I usually always finish it. But i was so bored with this game I just stopped and never went back and never regretted it. Just thinking about that game makes me shudder

Furesis24d ago

That's exactly what happened to me too lmao
Fallout 4 is not a fallout game period it's a bethesda game

Vits24d ago

The comparison with Skyrim is mind-boggling. Yes, Skyrim has streamlined many of the systems that Morrowind introduced. However, it did not tamper with the core of the Elder Scrolls franchise; it did not diminish the freedom and sense of exploration that made Bethesda RPGs famous. Fallout 4, on the other hand, did exactly that to the Fallout series. It eliminated what made Fallout such a beloved series to play. There are no consequences for your choices, no reason to explore, and barely any interesting set pieces in the game.

It's not terrible, but it's a painfully mediocre game in a franchise that typically doesn't produce such mediocrity. So that is why people see it as bad, the bar is just much higher.

anast24d ago

They both feel the same because they are, it's just that one has swords and magic and the other has swords and guns.

anast24d ago

I'm replaying it now. It sucks. I'm about 30 hours in and thinking about quitting again. I am so tired of the dialogue I just spam a random button because it doesn't matter. The upgrade just feels like a graphical mod, everything else is not good.

Good-Smurf24d ago (Edited 24d ago )

I couldn't play the game as-is it was insanely boring and grindy and the grind itself are not fun at all.
Mods helped me stomach the game a bit better but after a while I just stopped playing and uninstalled it because the game did nothing after the first few hours to give me any motivation to keep playing it, it just became a mindless looter shooter with obsession in settlement building and defending.
Compared to F3 and FNV, F4 was barely a mediocre game it wasn't bad but it's also very forgettable entry.

MrDead24d ago

It's not that bad after 300+ mods that fix it's issues and make the game fun... but lets not talk about mods right now as they are f****d.
