Top 10 Great Games That No One Played

While the gaming industry has its success stories and million-sellers like Halo, Call of Duty, and World of Warcraft, there are games out there that stood out just as much with fantastic gameplay and unique concepts that didn't sell anywhere near as well. While they may have not made mountains of money, here is Gamezone's 10 games that should be in every gamer's library (but likely aren't).

Shenmu is a superb game but WTF is it doing there? It was played by a lot of people while likes of Ico, Beyond Good & Evil are the masterpieces that almost no one tried them. Swap that with Indigo Prophecy and the list would be perfect.
And Psychonauts should indeed be the number one. Dammit people go and buy that game right NOW!

that shenmue deserves its spot the production values to make the game were through the roof and it didnt sell anywhere it should have. I shenmue on DC and it was better than anything at the time and made huge innovations by employing the quicktime button pressing and it was such a detailed and immersive world even in todays standards. In fact shenmue is supposed to be a very long series but the game seems to have no support so i dont think we will see shenmue 3 anytime soon sadly

Second Skies of Arcadia deserves to be there somewhere great rpg that put back my faith in the genre i think it is up there with FF and i am currently going to buy whatever system the skies of arcadia 2 will be released on

this to me shows that the dreamcast had many great games that were not played i think that they should start taking a look at all the good rpg's for the dreamcast and start making them. Do you hear me sega?

shenmue, i recently got and its pretty good but the controls are kinda frustrating and it takes some getting used to. i wanna finish it tho so i can get to part 2

okami is also a really good game, the style is amazing and the brushes are fun to mess around with. im dying for a sequel.

ICO is also another good game but there really isnt too much variety in the fighting..what else can u do with a 2x4?

I liked all the weirds stuff you could do, like look at your socks and stuff. The only problem for me was there wernt enough fights. The part where you fight that entire gang was awsome, I wish the game had more of that fighting, cause then it woulda been even more awsome.

I just bought ico from england(im aussie) for $100 because its so rare here now.

I rung up all kinds of shops and EVERY1 knew what the game was i was like Wtf? Oh..and then ofcourse there's eb games.

I rung up places like cash converters(like a glorified pawn shop) and the guy knew exactly what ico was. Same as other Retail stores.

Thennnnnnn i ring EB games.. hah ofcourse.

Floigan Bros and Skies of Arcadia on the DC.

Trapt (Deception series) on PS2.

Panzer Dragoon Orta and Jet Set Radio Future(better than the first one) on Xbox.

I couldn't believe my luck when I found a copy of Panzer Dragoon Orta at Best Buy for $9.99 a few years ago. Still have it, and still play it. Very good game.

I think its a pretty good list, especially considering that the only one I've actually played is Ico. Motor City Online was the only surprise to me, compared to other unplayed good games lists. I'm surprised by the lack of Valkyrie Profile and Zack and Wiki, but still a solid list.

Jet Set Radio Future and Especially Shenmue were INCREDIBLE.
They should make new version on the 360 rather than making crappy Sonic games.

Shenmue should be the top great game that no one has ever played. The game was rich in story and provided action that used the supurb Virtua Fighter engine. It's cliffhanger ending has left many wondering when and if III will be developed. It's a travesty this game has not been ported to XBOX Originals.

The main reason Oddworld whatever it was called didn't sell well is they left Sony and went to the Xbox. That was stupid. The first game did great on the Playstation. The Xbox games just didn't sell. Xbox gamers don't care about that type of game.

Why is conker on there? While the original wasn't played by many, Conker Live and Reloaded was a huge hit, and essentially the same game. One of my favorite live titles on the original xbox.

Phantom Dust should have been on that list TBH... (a lot of hardcore gamers don't even know about it. My favorite game hands down on the original xbox)

C'mon, MS: Make Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath backwards compatible! Freakin' amazing game...tremendous action, lots of humor, and the sheer novelty of the "living ammo" and the varieties of ways it can be used...just a GREAT game awaiting rediscovery.

And Psychonauts and Beyond Good and Evil...what more can be said about them? Again, two classics awaiting rediscovery...at least Psychonauts is now available for download.

Agree with you totally. Shenmue is the single most memorable gaming experience in my life. It was an incredible game, I also loved the mini-games, and the hidden Sega MegaDrive system which was playable! Classic.

Shenmue was an awesome game but I never got to beat it :(.. I had rented it and took it back before I could finish. It would have been worth renting again but I decided not to at the time for some reason. I wish the come out with an updated version for the next gen consoles.

Conkers Bad Fur Day was an awesome game in single player and multiplayer. I couldnt get enough of the squirl war on the N64. I had fun setting them on the highest difficulty and trying to blow there head off before they picked up the Mag. If the managed to get that weapon you could consider your ass dead.

Jet grind radio was one its own kind. It had a wierd concept I didnt know how it was going to turn out to be. When I tried it though it turned out to be fun tagging walls the backs of police men.

Then yes Okami is a buy, especially because, in my opinion, it offers so much more. I did however feel that it dragged on for a bit (it's a huge game) but there are a lot of redeeming qualities.

I did buy Okami and I didn't really feel that, gameplay-wise, it lived up to all critical acclaim it got. It definitely has a unique style, particularly in the art-direction - I just didn't find the gameplay or story compelling enough to make me keep playing it. My wife loves Zelda games (I like them too) and she put a lot more time into Okami - she really likes games that let you explore interesting worlds, but ultimately she didn't finish it either.

Shenmue in my opinion is the greatest game I have ever played. Also Indigo Prophecy should have been there. The only game I truly agree that should be high in that list is Beyond Good and Evil.

Was and remains to this day, Shenmue. I'm eternally grateful it sold enough for them to make the second, but like Deadwood, it is killing me that they will most likely not be finishing the trilogy.

Also, someone mentioned Skies of Arcadia and I absolutley agree with that sentiment. A fantastic convention-breaking RPG.

Finally, where was Seaman on this list? No love for Mr. Spock?

Deus Ex Invisible War, was a very good hybrid game that was part RPG, FPS, and action adventure with four different endings!!! It was also one of the first games to use Havoc Physic 2.0. Too bad this game was underrated. Maybe if it had multiplayer it would been notice by gamers. It probably would of beaten Halo 2 in multiplayer at the time. Another game that follow it is Timeshift, which was one of the first games for next gen to use Havoc Physics 4.0.
