First Party Games*

That aren't GaaS**

Bring back Legend of Dragoon***

Barlos14d ago

You don't want more?

Ok Sony, Lightning77 thinks we have enough games so we don't want any more thanks.

anast14d ago (Edited 14d ago )

I agree with Lightening here. The narrative that Sony isn't releasing games on the same pace as previous gens is objectively incorrect.

Of course we can take things out of context too...

lucian22914d ago

and even though sony isnt releasing as much as last gen, they are still releasing WAY more than the competitors. Literally stellar blade just came out, and before that was Rise of ronin and ff7 rebirth as well as a bunch of others. How many dang games you want?

stellar Blade just released I'm currently enjoying that game. Don't be in a rush for games Sony has released a good amount since October.

Plus they still have their showcase possibly this month.

New Starhawk/Warhawk would be nice.....

DarXyde15d ago (Edited 15d ago )

Warhawk remake is probably the one Live service game they could pull me into.

I bloody loved Warhawk. Absolute madness.

SegaSaturn66915d ago

Warhawk was so much fun. Even the DLC with the charging truck thing was an absolute blast

@Flenter: “New Starhawk/Warhawk would be nice.....”
🙏 🙏 🙏 🤞🏾 🤞🏾 🤞🏾
You took the words out of my mind.

badz14914d ago

with the success of Helldivers 2, I can see Warhawk would be able to garner the same level of success too using the same model. and while they let maybe Bluepoint to remaster and Nixxes to port it to PC, let other studios cook some smaller SP games. this focus on AAA to AAAA only games is starting to feel like gaming aren't what it suppose to be anymore

romulus2314d ago

I wholeheartedly agree but I gave up on the Warhawk dream long ago. We keep asking for it but it seems Sony isn't listening.

There better be a place to say no to live service and GaaS games, and yes to single player.

TiredGamer15d ago

The choice will be:

A) Live service games and GAAS
B) Emphasis on single player games and $80 MSRP

Ps5conehead14d ago

I don’t mind spending 80 for a great single player game, I worked hard for 34 years to have a good retirement and enjoy what I like. Life is to short. I found that out with my health. So don’t put off till tomorrow it may never happen

MIDGETonSTILTS1715d ago

Clearly you haven’t played Helldivers 2.

Sony might do GaaS much, much better than everybody else. Time will tell if another studio can replicate Arrowhead’s setup with HD2.

DarXyde15d ago

Live service works best when you have a lower cost of entry and the monetization schemes are very much optional.

For their own sake, don't flood the market with them and put the budget into the gameplay loop, not the visuals and production values.

-Foxtrot14d ago

Oh wow...one GaaS game does well and suddenly everyone does a 180 on live service

Lets be real, it was lightning in a bottle and I doubt they could replicate it with something else so easy and so soon.

DarXyde14d ago

-Foxtrot,

I wouldn't say there's support and warmth for them. More than anything, I think people accept that developers are not going to let them go. You're absolutely right in saying it was very much a moment of success, but the point we can make is that there is a right way to do these types of games if they're going to exist.

Profchaos14d ago

But di you want 10 games that mirror helldivers 2 or hell divers 2 and a bunch of varried games like platformers, shooters and other creative endeavours.

I know I want balance

Lightning7714d ago

HD2 is making Sony too much money so I doubt that. They're doing both LS and AAA SP game.

romulus2314d ago

There is it's called the consumer market place, if people don't want them then they need to stop buying them, yet for some reason...................

Greatest playstation experience? Ok

KILLZONEPS5
SOCOMPS5
ND IP
BLUEPOINT IP
TLOU3
SUCKERPUNCH GOT2
WOLVERINE GAMEPLAY TRAILER
SANTA MONICA IP
GUERILLA HORIZON3 TEASER

The usual GAAS games
INDIES

THANKYOU

Storm2315d ago

I would add Resistance PS5 to that too...

anast14d ago

Since they are already on pace to at least meet if not surpass the previous gen, they would just need 3 or 4 on that list to meet their standard, so those 3 or 4 are coming.

Planet of Lana (PS5) Review | VGChartz

VGChartz's Lee Mehr: "What makes Planet of Lana among the better success stories is how it emulates without forgetting to incorporate its own personality. It's a "Playdead platformer meets Studio Ghibli" without stopping there. What on its surface is a determined rescue mission blossoms into a planet-wide expedition succinctly tying a foreign world's history and Lana's heroic journey to interrogate our own presently discordant relationship with nature. Although – sadly – better strengths in presentation and theme aren't as evident within its game design, at least there are some quality nuances to the formula. Those half-measures do reveal Wishfully too often retreating to safety, but the collected successes elsewhere still make for an impressive debut that's easily worth playing."
