it looks more like a port of the gamecube version. i wish they would remake the re1/2/3 for ps3 and 360, now that would be good.

Yeah, this the GameCube remake, only ported over to Wii. Funny that you say it looks great. I mean it does, but this remake came out in 2002. No enhancements have been made to the Wii version other than a retooled control scheme.

Sorry, but is there anybody else that is noticing how the Wii is becoming the port machine of PS2 and Gamecube games? What the heck? They already did a remake of RE and now they are making a remake of the remake for the Wii?

Looks like an exact port to me as well. I guess with Wii controls implemented. Which isn't a terrible thing. RE1 remake on the gamecube is probably one of my favorite games. It still holds up graphically as well I believe...mainly because of the static backgrounds tho but regardless it looks pretty still.

I'd be all over an RE2 remake with RE4 gameplay. RE2 is the best of the series storyline-wise.

It seems to be a remake of the Cube's remake of the original, i agree, why not port across to the PS3 and or 360. RE1 is an absolute classic and for me is still the best in the series so far...

I've always thought RE2 was far and away the best of the series, followed by RE1 then Code Veronica.

At the moment there is just a lot of shovelware and ports, hopefully with motion plus we will see some more interesting titles, to match up with No more heroes and Super Mario Galaxy.

Shame they keep remaking these old classics over and over again, raping and milking the concept for everything it's worth... I played this on the GC, why the hell would I want a wii ver of the game? How about some NEW games instead Nintendo? Give us a RE2 remake, and I'll be all over it.

Why are they wasting time porting this game to the Wii? We want a remake of RE2, RE3, and RE:CV. They only way I will accept this remake AGAIN! If is only they will bring the rest of the series to the Wii, in REMAKE form.

I don't understand- the Gamecube Resident Evil remake was superb- this looks exactly the same- Wii controls are going to add practically nothing to the experience and doesn't the Wii play Gamecube games anyway? So why?

yup nintendo can't come up with anything new and innovative game wise since the wii's launch so its now porting old gc games to the wii how sad. thats what nintendo do milk things more than anyone else, look at how long they have used mario and still have not come up with a new mascot, im glad i've got a ps3, coz they seem to be doing all the innovating game wise at the moment.
and if you try to compare sony with nintendo then consider this
PS1 - Crash bandicoot
PS2 - Jak and Daxter \ Ratchet and Clank
PS3 - LBP (well to me anyways), but it still has time to make more gr8 games.

Is this remake (read straight PORT) not completely and utterly redundant?? You can already buy the Gamecube version and play it on your Wii.
Please Capcom can we have some new IPs for the Wii instead of last gen ports??
