He never really left, Now what I think we're now seeing is 'OL Jack T. is becoming the MAN the 'Gate Keeper" indie devs has to proves their mettle and commitment to be part of the SONY party of new devs. O'l Jack will be the mountain indie devs of tomorrow have to cross over to be groomed into becoming part of the next-gen SIE representatives like Naughty Dog, Santa Monica, Guerrilla Games, or Sucker Punch.

Sounds to me like he’s saying fuck the corporate world, corporations tend to be about right now not tomorrow that’s why so many of them fail or just don’t grow to it’s full potential..

I don't think he's saying that. I think he's saying that the devs and investors need to look more at the long term and not be so focused on what would net immediate gains. More about building something into greatness, instead of just taking the money and running. Consider that Rovio hasn't made jack squat except angry birds. King is nothing more than Candy Crush. Mahjong is nothing more than Minecraft. They built nothing except a cash cow, but don't really command much notice or respect outside those things. When their cash cow dies, so will the company. The owners will be rich. The publishers of their games will be rich. But eventually they will not amount to anything more.

He's saying he's tired of training investers "corporate" and would much rather work directly with devs..

I personally think that's great.. in the gaming world corporate should be in its own lane and that lane is, nice game I'll invest in it.. not oh it's not finished? Oh well release it..

I guess it could be taken that way. But I also think that he can't just say screw corporate and make a lot of headway. He has a partner in this new venture, maybe they're dealing with the investors.

In any case, I wish him the best of luck. He was under Sony a long time, and we saw a lot of devs grow beyond their roots, so if he can bring that to more indies, I'm all for it.
