‘Diablo Immortal’ is Blizzard’s best and most worrying game in years | Engadget

Engadget: "Outside of Diablo 2: Resurrected, there hasn’t been a new Diablo game in 10 years, and, as of this June, it will be 23 years since Blizzard released Diablo 2. And I think that’s what makes Immortal so easy to be conflicted about. It shows the studio can still create engaging experiences when it gives its talented staff the time they need to work on a project, but it’s also a game that’s impossible to separate from its economics. It’s easy to see a scenario where Immortal is hugely successful for the studio and ends up informing its approach to Diablo 4 and future projects."

The Blizzcon for this one gave everyone years of meme gold. Free-to-play games are advertisements in a game costume.

"most worrying" Game has p2w lootboxes & servers which you only have servers on mobile to appease whales.
Meh

lucian229731d ago

full of employees who stalk their female coworkers that are milking and also steal their breast milk....nah i'll pass, screw blizzard

AirRevenant730d ago

You wouldn't think there would be that many people that are "pro breast milk theft" but, then you see those down votes.

lucian229730d ago

Lmao those guys love giving money to devs who do that and a company filled with bad sexual behavior amongst other bad practices.

HyperMoused731d ago

Its a smear on the Diablo franchise, wont even release where they cant sell loot boxes, its a blow like BF2042 is to the BF franchise, and that has more integrity.

I think part of the reason is China: for several years now, it is impossible to "sell" a complete, finished game in China. Chinese censor stop issue licence for any finished game. So all the current games in China can only be "subsided" within a state of "perpetual beta test". Developer can never "finish" their development in China.

I took a drink for every "China" word in your comment and now I can't even walk.

Looking forward to the PC version

So am I as it's free to play, so nothing to lose if monetization is bad and just end up dropping it.

I uninstalled d4 after they kept screwing over the sorc build and I beat the game. I also uninstalled immortal after reading the end. I actually went back to d2r here and there.

"Creating Completely New Class for Whales"

staticall12d ago

«Tempest» with water and lighting, blue-green color scheme, wow, so original. I've got a new idea - «Volcano» with power of fire and earth, brown-red color scheme, ain't it great?! /s

Cinematic in the trailer is so cheapely made, for anything Blizzard-related, it's such a shame. Also, looks like they combined monk and blood knight(?) abilities, kinda makes it look like an afterthought.

How the mighty have fallen...
